ok. i like redesigns. i love them, i like seeing different versions of characters, that's why i love project rooftop . (though i think it's incredibly non-objective in its judging...) anyways. lets all do some redesigns!! any legion character you want, redesign their look!

I would change Blok's drawers to black, with maybe a Nike swoosh...and pockets. The red ones just said a little too much "me" for Blok's personality.
Sunboy on the otherhand, a bit more Kingdom Come.

These are old, but I thought I'd post them again to participate in this thread. I'll try to come up with something new as well: WILDFIRE

drake, holy crap!! YES THAT!! whoa, i LOVE that first one SO MUCH!! i was just thinking that wildfire would be really difficult because he's basically a man shaped suit, but going the more robotic looking route would be an amazing solution!! it would definitely look futuristic and it still looks recognizable!! and i really like the more modern color choices on the second on (putting in black is ALWAYS a great idea to me)great job!!
hahaha already this thread has made me really happy =3=!!

Some of my favorite re-designs are Drake's versions of Cosmic Boy and Saturn Girl in this picture.

Here's another bit for ya VV. An old thread that I've always thought was somewhat inspired. Legion of Superboys You might want to look through those old art threads in bits. Some of the folks here that orignally showed talent have grown tremendously in skill and there are some old friends that we don't see now that were VERY talented. It's worth taking some time to look.

Here's a direct link to a redesigned photomanip I made of Dawnstar some time ago. I did quite a bit of research into the icons used on her costume to get an accurate look for the costume. Dawnstar redesign

ADL: very nice! it's subtle changes and streamlined, kind of what we'd seen in an animated universe.
hahahah ded, even MORE naked ;_;!! i do like accessories, superheroes tend not to accessorize very much because some poor artist has to draw them all. but i think a lot of costumes would benefit from some add ons fashionwise.
yk: whoa those are pretty awesome! and coordinating their outfit to their flagship character would be a really good idea. it'd help with "these guys are related to something you know! do not be afraid!" i always thought the legion had a problem with their costumes not matching. i think the design team on the cartoon did a great job of using the logo and certain shapes and colors to make sure you know they were all on the same team (the girls' had those AMAZING fat boots, for example). i remember when the xmen movie came out and they all dressed in black yet they were all recognizable as the x men. and then the comics picked up the black outfits (or maybe it was the otehr way around, but i don't recall black outfits before the movies). after that, they slowly differentiated again but i think artists are more careful about palette (more muted colors, using the same blue on one person as another).

I'm completely on the fence about uniform costumes.
On the one hand, part of the whole super-hero genre is the colorful and impractical outfits, and the absolute best Legions, for me, are the ones that are the most uplifted and 'Silver Age-y' with the boundless optimism and the shiny future and the scrubbed teens in their colorful costumes.
On the other hand, a uniform look forces the artists to actually differentiate their faces and stances enough that we can tell them apart. Nobody should be mistaking Kyle Rayner for Hal Jordan, because they have the same uniform.
Some artists rise to this challenge. Others don't, and I really couldn't tell who most of the characters were supposed to be during the latter Giffen years, when everyone had monstrously square jaws and the same brown scruffy hair as everyone else! Costumes would have helped tell who was who. The early threeboot also felt a little off for me, as straight hair was suddenly 'in' and all of the curly-haired Legionnaires (like Jan) and wavy-haired Legionnaires (like Nura and Projectra and Dirk) suddenly had the same flat hair as everyone else, making the costumes, IMO, necessary to tell them apart.
I loved semi-uniform looks in teams like Strikeforce Morituri, who were a military force, but I'm pretty sure that I don't ever want the Legion to be a bunch of bitter, scarred mercenary types, because, no matter my love of Wildstorm comics, I don't want a Wildstorm Legion.
They're just different flavors, IMO, and they don't taste great together.
