It would be novel to have a new title without all the stodgy old faces we're used to. I don't mind some of them, but it would be nice to have a group whose membership starts with Invisible Kid II, and White Witch. with all those who came after, to join up. Kono, Laurel Gand, Kinetix, XS, Dream Boy, Theena, Computo, Kid Quantum. Yera as the shape-shifter, Mekt as the energy caster, Grev and his Darkfield, Inferno and her fiery personality, Quislet, Ivy, Gates, Lori Morning, Reflecto, Kent Shakespeare, Gear. Maybe Chemical King, and Tyroc could be present as they were so under-utilized/under-exposed. All Legion, but **FRESH.*** Mature members balancing out the young, impulsive ones. More alien members. Paul Levitz was cool about introducing more alien members to the group, they just need to be explored more thoroughly without constant re-boots and such

While I don't consider the familiar faces "stodgy" (is Superman stodgy? Is Batman stodgy?), I'd definitely buy such a Legion title (The White Witch was the clincher). wink smile

Might be interesting, but it wouldn't be the Legion. IMHO anyway.

Ditto.

Wouldn't neccessarily buy it. It'd have to really have a writer I love and respect to get me on board.

I disagree. I think it would be a nice change. In my view, the Legion is a big enough concept that all eras count.

I'd add the v.5 #15 trio as well, though, since they haven't gotten much play in recent years (unlike Wildfire). I'd leave out Mekt, though, at least as a regular.

It's a VERY interesting idea, especially since a lot of my faves were from the later eras. Kinetix, XS, Gates, Kid Quantum II, Polar Boy, White Witch, Kono, Laurel Gand, Theena, Spider Girl. I'd certainly give it a shot.
I have to agree, though, that having NONE of the Adventure Era/ Silver Age Legionnaires is a little too much. I'd like to have Brainiac 5, Chameleon, Saturn Girl, Bouncing Boy, Live Wire and Umbra at least tongue Maybe even Wildfire.

I think an acceptable compromise is to have maybe 9-10 Silver Agers, and the other 9-10 be more recently introduced Legionnaires.

Who's to say a silver age member can't pop in every now and then. Maybe in a mentor/consultant capacity, or who knows how. A creative mind can come up wth all sorts of ways to work something into a story. It just seems to me alot of people get upset when a character isn't portrayed in a way that doesn't jibe, historically speaking. Alot of that could be avoided by using characters that haven't been fleshed out very much. (Like the newer members.) I have affection for the earlier members, but alot of the newer elements of the legion introduced after the magic wars, etc, interest me, and they seem to get lost with each reboot.

I love the idea, and would totally buy it, but I'd require that the members who are missing be acknowledged somehow.
