Submission 79: D. SPENGLER BONITA * Outfits: LSH v3 #24 / LSH v3 #47 * Name never actually printed or given. This is just Eryk\'s speculation which I wholly condone.

That's all I have to post this time. More Academy students are coming, but I figured I'd post these few to keep interest going as I sift through the different realities next.

Yay! I love that "D. Spengler Bonita" is catching on as a name for this character!

'Bonita' means 'pretty', right? She's certainly that. What's 'D.' stand for, or is it just the initial? My dad's name was L.D..
Lovely work, as always, Future!

That rounds out the Preboot Legion Academy members!
Up next! Dragonwing, Gravity Kid, Chemical Kid ... that whole lot! Then, the U.P. Military Academy and the Postboot Legion Academy.

The fish-things are "Skreaks".
I love these! I never connected that one Academy student with Silver Sword, but you're right it seems to be her!

Thanks, Eryk! I thought the "Silver Sword" design looked familiar, having re-read the Universo Project only a few days prior.
I also enjoy that, despite the fact he's never been named, there's a clear evolution for the unnamed gentleman with a beard in regard to his powerset and hair length. Could this be the rumored Wray Muntz, the unidentified mind-wipee with D. Spengler Bonita, who chooses to use his reality warping powers to augment his own mass? They're depicted as having some type of heated conversation in their first appearance, after all! Why shouldn't the fates keep them together?
I've also always wondered if the unnamed, purple brute was meant to be Power Boy. Jed was the only established Academy student missing from the LSH v3 #47 training shot I believe - the coloring was so similar it had me suspicious. The Retroboot has since established them as two separate characters.

Hmmm... I kind of like the idea of that character as Wray Muntz. Maybe his powers are basically that his physical appearance varies with his own self-image, or something. So, when he's really self-confident, he manifests as a He-man, but turns into a skinny wimp if his confidence is shattered?
I was also wondering if that might be Power Boy!

I love it. It could help explain how such a potentially powerful meta could be captured by the Dominators, should he have some type of fear of them or lowered esteem due to the collapse of the Legion once he was finally prepped for graduation.
It very well could have been Jed. Larocque was fairly consistent, including a lot of the previous Academy students he had designed later on like Westerner, Mandalla, "Spengler" and "Wray." He had that one-off Laurel Kent Superman costume homage he did, so bulking Power Boy back up to a bigger frame like in his first appearance seems a likely option.

Cosmic Teams, IIRC, refers to them as 'Flotsam & Jetsam,' but I have no idea if that's just something the site owner made up on the spot instead of calling them 'floating fish-things.'

Hmm... I wonder if we could interpret their changing colors as Tellus's "mood ring" color changes to them?

Building off EDE's comment - what about an even more way out thought:
What if the color changing bumps on Tellus' back actually are an early-development stage of Skreaks? Like some sort of symbiotic relationship where embryonic Skreaks actually gestate on the backs of mature Hykraians?

Your work is so good and people seem to appreciate this series, but I don't know if they understand that your work is much more complex than regular micros, since your templates are on an angle. The angle means that the left and right sides aren't equal, since perspective comes into play and the arms are rounded at the shoulder. The chests are also angled and defined with 'bulk'. Regular micros don't have those roundings and angles, so they're identicle on each side as well as flat and just two dimensional. The Byzantine style is almost impossible to do with all of their little flourishes and points, with your templates. It just takes SOOOO much longer and is much more of a trial and error, mostly error, undertaking. It's very frustrating. But the attempt has made me even more appreciative of you gorgeous work.

Thanks for letting us in on that Candlelight. I knew I had no real idea of the work involved having never tried doing these, but this gives me some idea.

I bounce around projects all the time, but it's good to know that my Legion Micros will always have a home on Legion World no matter how infrequent I work on them.
Thank you to everyone for the support and praise over the year(s) for these silly, little, disproportionate conglomerations of pixels.
Making my way through the Postboot Legion Academy. 12 kids done so far. Finally found some reference material for Tomb, Brawler, and Cannus.
