Or perhaps it was a response to the unspoken them of this thread, which is along the lines of 'I wish Waid would stop monkeying around and give us Eryk, Lester and Drura!'

Will Bendis avoid Mark Waid's mistake of not using fan favorite Legion characters like Calamity King, Lester Spiffany, Infectious Lass, and Dr. Landro's Hot Nurse?

Or is his Legion destined to crash and burn without these vital characters?

All Bendis and Sook have to do is adhere to a few simple rules.

I assumed their use of Floyd Belkin was a given!

One of the silhouettes (#8 on Nighty's numbered pic) has only one arm is visible and actually does have the bulky upper chest profile of Floyd.... and Lester is probably the new financial backer of the team.

I'm more concerned about Bendis using gay male couples! Power Boy and Gravity Kid? Lyle and Condo?

Lester and Flynt is kind of genius!

But, sheesh, I totally had to look up who Meyer Qayd was! It's like I've completely forgotten everything about the Legion during the past few years of not thinking about them regularly!

Once the Bendis version is up and running, I can almost guarantee there will be tons of Brainiac 5/Superboy fanfic.

I hope this new Legion has an element of fun to it, whether it's the inclusion of characters like these or just some lighthearted tone like the Reboot had. The last few versions were just too damned joyless.

I want to go along with this, even after all these years... on the condition that they age Brainy up first.

That was the main thing which made me keep those fics at arms' length back in the day, though they were by far the most popular for cartoon fans.

Actually I liked Brainy/Violet, too. Maybe they could all be together.

I see a TON of Brainy/Vi fanfic for in the wild from that series. It was kind of interesting that the cartoon echoed some of the same relationship from the threeboot at the time - and I doubt that they had much creative crossover.

Well, I know DeMatteis did quite a bit of writing in the second season. But I don't know how much writing he had done for DC before that. I always associated him with Marvel: The Defenders and such.
