The first 4 pages of Legion #25 are online at Popcultureshock.com. Basically the Smallville mini-story.

Here's the link

Well, it looks like Popcultureshock is buckling under. frown

If anyone is able to download the images and repost them here, that would be great.

Well THAT doesn't seem like DnA's usual level of dialogue. The page with Lana, Pete, and Clark was alright, but after that???

Based on the artistic credits on page 3 and previous spoilers, the stories seem to break down *approximately* as follows:

Main Story (Batista) - 23 pages in 7 parts
Smallville Flashback (Wright) - 5 pages in two parts
Outer Space Rescue (TnT) - 9 pages in three parts
Jan/Progenitor Flashback (Rivoche) - 6 pages in one part
Ranzz Siblings Flashback/Mekt (Cockrum & Milgrom) - 5 pages in one part

The stories weave in and out, ending with 10 pages of main story. Pretty ambitious.

Looks good. Ayla looks the way I imagine she should for a farm girl. The more I see of Batista's work, the more I love it.

YO!!
I am on such an entertainment HIGH right now. Today I got the Indiana Jones box set, Paul Westerberg's 2 new CD's and concert film that all came out today PLUS I just got the comps of LEGION #25. My favorite part is the Smallville stuff. Eric Wright's stuff is just beautiful!! I wish it was ours. Our stuff printed okay. We were a bit worried about how it would reproduce on that newsprint paper DC uses. It's a bit over saturated, but for the most part it's okay. We are going to post the pages without ballons on our site the day it comes out. Compare and contrast.
All in all it's a really good book. I talk to so many people that don't read LEGION. They always say the same damn things about how intimidating it seems because of the number of members. I hope they read this one. It's a really good starting point.

God, I sound like a corprate whore right now, but I mean it. I really like this one.
By the way what ever happened to LEGION caht on wednesdays? Is it stil going on?
I just realized how much money I spent today. I have to get back to work now.

You know Tom, you're a very big tease. It's still a week and a half away for us mortals.

Some "established" (we prefer that to "older") fans, like me, are hoping that this heralds a return to Silver Age sensibilities. After all, we Baby Boomers need a bit of recognition.

It will be fun to contrast the different styles in one book - it seems that the Smallville story art has very "simple" backgrounds - apart from the town scene, quite a few panels just have solid colour background. I wonder if that's a hallmark of this particular artist, or is it evoking a "simpler" time?

So, what do we have then... (only p1-4 certainly havce the numbers I give them, the others are arbitrary)

And obviously the Rokk, Imra and Garth who visit young-Clark aren't "our" Cos, SG and LW. Hmmm...

Umm.. Why does Cosmic boy have a space helmet on when he's talking to Superboy? But he doesn't have one on when he's in outer space...
I'm not sure I like the idea of the whole superboy thing. Oh wait. I AM sure... I don't like it.
It gets too... I dunno.. complex because they met Superman and he didn't like the Legion members and such.. but if he worked with them as a teenager... ARG... I really think this was something they should have left alone. Stories of Superman as a teenager just don't interest me. I never was a Superman fan...

Homage to the first LSH appearance, where Cosmic Boy had a helmet on his costume, I'd guess.

Once editorial excised Superboy and they went through super-pains to revise the continuity and still ended up rebooting the Legion...eh, I think they should have left well enough alone. But I'll keep an open mind when reading the comic.

What Amentep said. A 45th anniversary homage to the very first Legion story, published in April 1958 -- long before transuits were invented. If you've never read Adventure #247, beg, borrow or steal Legion Archives Vol. #1. Or simply GO HERE .

Even if you don't like Superboy/Superman, it's still a seminal story.

The dedication to Otto Binder and Al Plastino is a nice touch I think. I have to admit, I got confused or something because I thought this was out today. Talk about disappointing.

Do you think this guy is serious?? I'm not surprised by the idea of two Superboys, but the rest is pretty shocking!

Frankly, it fits with the clues. TnT's preview page (P11 above) showed that something was found in the Stargate rift - something they were apprehesive about revealing. After the L26 solicit was revealed, there was at least the suggestion by someone (forget who, sorry), that that may be Garth in Jan's body on P"6" above, and it fits in a sense with P4 too. Granted, it wasn't taken too seriously, but still...

Now that I've slept on it, I have to agree. I'd wondered who the three "harbingers of doom" would be. Now the Smallville story makes sense, in a perverse sort of way. The outer space rescue -- I can see that, too. The Time Trapper, of course. Who else would be responsible for collapsing time? A double villain whammy. But Garth in Jan's body? That's gonna take some time to digest. No wonder he looks so upset. urk
