I was just thinking, with the recent Titans deaths and the focus in JSA/JLA, is DC quietly trying to get rid of the post-ZH legion?
The post-ZH legion was last seen in Infinite crisis and since then, there's been no signs of them while other versions of the legion has been popping up everywhere.
Add that to the fact that current DCU characters with ties to the legion e.g. Connor, Bart, are being killed. It doesn't seem too rosy for the post-ZH legion now does it?

I agree the ZH characters seem to be getting wiped out. First it was the Justice League International and now the Titans?
I am worried that the next Crisis will get rid of the 52 Earths? Or atleast narrow them down to a handful.

It would really be a shame to wipe out the reboot LSH. I know there was lots of crap, but there are some true gems there also.
We're all semi-fairly well agreed when things went to crap in a crapbucket (the Emerald Vi/Team 20 story) but even after that, there were pre-DnA goodies, like the LEGIONNAIRES try-out issue, the Ze Tongue issue that followed (well, *I* thought it was funny!), the small-town LSH issue featuring Mr. Swan, the Golden-Age LEGIONNAIRES issue... that stuff was good.

And characters like Gates and Nara Minsork don't deserve to be whited out.
I wish there was just a way to combine all the great things about all LSH eras. But I guess that's a pipe dream.

Once I got over the shock of the fact that there *was* a reboot, I came to embrace it. Granted, not as much as the preboot, but I grew up with the preboot.

While most of the storylines were pretty expendable, I agree that it would be a shame to lose such awesome characters as Sinde Pallor, Doro, and Kinetex!
I totally favor a giant re-mix Legion!

A re-mix Legion....
dear sir, it sounds like you're on to something there!
And I agree, Sketch. I loved the preeboot and started my Legion Reading with the 5YL stories and then BOOM Zero Hour....grumblegrumble....

LSH# 105 was a grab bag of Legion Eras. I quite like that issue.

Maybe one day DC will decide to only worry about making me, Lash, Not-So-Bad Lad, and Sketchie happy, and stop worry about pissing off the tons of fans who would hate the remix Legion idea!

Those tons of fans SUCK! >_<
If they stand between me and a Legion with Ferro, Tenzil, Chuck, AND Gates, then they will fall.

I was reading Marvel's Exiles the other day where they have characters from different realities in one book. I don't see why we can't have the same for the Legion...

I didn't care for the ZH at all. But I agree with you guys that the hilight was the new characters. Wish we could see most those guys again.

Reboot had its ups and downs. I would suggest that (1) despite the downs, it had enough ups to make it worthy of consideration, and (2) just as any particular era of LSH has its fans, Reboot-era fandom is worthy of respect, just as any other eras are (well, not Conway. ).
The childhood friend Exnihil never had.

Well, any era has its ups and downs. The fact that pre-crisis (or something very similar to it) and threeboot is now appearing on DC's titles, but there's nothing to satisfy the reboot/post-ZH fans (whether they be of the Archie or PMS or DnA variety) currently available. In addition to that though, characters in the present day DCU with links to the reboot/post-ZH legion have been eliminated or ignored - Connor & Bart being the most obvious 2. I don't think the future is that rosy for the reboot/post-ZH legion.

I agree with Novelty, it's highly unlikely the reboot Legion will be a part of the new universe/multiverse, but it's a much wider sweep than that. Few if any Legion stories published between 1986-2004 will count for anything anymore, I'll wager.

I'm guessing most stories from 1958-1986, even if they do "count", will be altered to the point of being unrecognizable.

Any story about Star Boy or Wildfire already has.
EDIT: Not to mention the fact that Karate Kid's 70s adventures in the 20th century adventures are all retconned away.

Come to think of it, no story where the Legion met the DCU heroes other than Clark would be in continuity anymore, including the first Justice League/Society/Legion crossover in the 70s or the time(s) they teamed up with Batman. In the Lightning Saga, Bruce, Hal, Diana, Dinah, etc. obviously hadn't met any of the "kids" before.
Let's make it simple and admit the original Legion has been permanently deleted, too.

All the Legion's still exist somewhere! You must have hope But I agree that there were many great things about the reboot, even if they got a few things *so* wrong, that it was distracting to the point where it was a serious problem (Sneckie--I'm looking at you). But if not for the reboot, we'd never have seen Lyle and Luornu shine like never before, Gates, Zoe, and some other great stuff. I want the Legion we're getting in the Lightning Saga, despite any little tweaks...

Forgive me, Classic Fans...but it feels sorta like we're taking a half step forward and five steps back (which is much better than I felt about the Threeboot, which I am still trying to decide if I read or not) Alot of the postboot was rehashing older stories with a "new" twist, I'll admit, but the Lightning Saga Legion seems to just be the pre 5YL Legion with a tweaked roster(though since KK is still alive, I can hold out hope for Ferro Lad...) And...there is now hope for a roster including Matter-Eater Lad...You know what? Forget I said anything.
