It's very early for this--we've only seen a portrait style holo of the reboot and threeboot Legions, but it's a start.
SATURN GIRL Perez does the Action hair a tad fluffier than Franks. Maybe it's growing out? Wow, in the reboot shot, it's hard to tell if it's in the AH! ponytail or loose. Nice work Ims! Love Perez's take on the Manapul 'do! Can't wait to see it in action. The tips are colored red in the holo. I'm sure that's just a lighting err'rr, not a new feature.
GARTH Action Lightning Lad's hair is like another character in the story! I'm always watching to see how it behaves! Very dramatic. Live Wire's hair is styled like classic Lightning Lad's. That seems wrong. Don't get me wrong-- I'm not calling for the Jarth look, but it seems like reboot Garth should have a more stick-y up, spiky look. Threeboot LL has a look similar to Action LL, shown lighter. A very subtle difference.
BRAINY (You were expecting Rokk, huh? Well, Brainy's hair is like another character in this story, too!) Action Brainy looks like he has a bowl of linguine on his head. It looks like he's tried to use some product to keep it back, but it keeps noodling out of place. Reboot Brainy doesn't have his Alphalpha cowlick. Oh well. Threeboot Brainy maintains the Manapul grown-out-buzz-cut, slicked back.
I'll update this review when we see the characters in action, but I do have to comment on the beautiful ACTION SHADOW LASS! Long ebony locks spilling and swirling all around... can't get enough of her!

Imra's hair looks much better than when Frank was drawing it in the Action run. She seems to be growing it back out from whatever freak shaving accident she had. Perez has a thing for curly haired folk. While just about every other artist goes for straight-hair on everyone, he was introducing characters with curly hair like Koriand'r / Starfire, Donna Troy's lame husband (whose name I forget) and Joe Wilson / Jericho over in the Titans. Crisis-era Element Lad and Dream Boy seem like just the wooly-headed sorts of people he would like to draw. Garth and Brainy's hair, on the other hand... Yeesh, now we know where all of Imra's flowing locks went! Tinya's short hair really impressed me. I was all ready to hate it, too.

Shady's hair is great but I can't stand her costume. I like Brainy's distracted hair, too. Tinya's and Ayla's flips - I liked those after a few panels. They must have good perms in the future for those hairdos to withstand the action.
It would be interesting if Imra really did have red tips in her hair - I missed that! - it could imply a bit of a personality difference. She always struck me as someone who would go for simple hair, not bother with colouring or changing the style, so the Action version actually makes sense to me (not that I like it much).

I agree, a distracted Brainy would let the hair flow. But, Jebus, Brainiac 5.1 is apparently back? With Koko? The reboot Legion is certainly in a continuity limbo, with past and 'present' versions on the holo-screen. For 3boot Brainy... I think I can spot Lex Luthor's connection to Lo3W. And I'm a bit disappointed if that is supposed to look like a "grown-out-buzz-cut".
Oh, and remember how Kitson gave most of the boys (and some girls) the exact same hairdo? Brin's been an improvement since then, but George may just be overdoing Manapul's touchups.
Is this the first time that a blond Lightning Lad exists? The various physical difference between Legions might make sense for Threeboot, but even if 5YL is still non-canon, remember that Reboot borrowed a lot of ideas, in terms of design, from the SW6 batch. Are they still supposed to be the exact younger counterparts of the Preboot Legion?
Leaving character unfamiliarity aside, I say George's doing the best he could have done, considering this is his Action/Reboot Legion debut, as well as the first time he's adapting Manapul's Threeboot redesigns. Give him a break, I say.

Unfortunately, the Legion is no exception.

George Perez is doing an outstanding job on this story. This thread is a celebration, though some critique will naturally happen. Rather than continue the review of the static holos, I'm going to wait and see the characters in action in the upcoming issues.

Well, I noticed in Lo3W, it seems that Action Garth had auburn/orange hair, Live Wire was a genuine redhead, and Prime Garth was strawberry blonde.
