In another forum ( Progressive Ruin ), it was pointed out that there appears to be a version of Superboy #212 that has the newer DC bullet logo than was used on most copies.

Here is the mystery cover, from MileHighComics:

Here is the normal cover, from GCD:

Note the logo difference, and the missing price and month on the first one.

Has anyone seen variations like this before? Is this a non-US edition? It's obviously still in English.

That was my first issue of the Legion.

I am pretty sure I have the bottom cover.

My two copies look like the bottom. The top one, to me, looks doctored. I wouldn't believe it unless I actually saw the physical copy. It could be a Whitman reprint but their logo would have been in place of the DC logo.

Jeepers! Talk about the logo taking up half the page! And people are complaining about the lack of space for artwork on the current book!

Both Mile High & GCD seem to have an awful lot of low-quality cover scans. I contacted GCD about sending them better or missing covers... but never heard back from them. (sigh)

Prof, I've actually just talked to Ken Lemons over at GCD about adding some missing Legion covers and he responded back immediately. My only concern with GCD is their image matrix which doesn't list all the issues for some series so that you can supply what is missing.

I'm waiting on word back on how to supply the missing ones for the new Legion series and will ask about replacing ones with higher quality scans.

On the top image, the new DC logo looks photoshopped in. You can see the bottom left outline of the original logo underneath. As for the price, you can see where what appears to be a sticker has been over the original price, and the new price looks to have been stamped on.

Why S/LSH # 212 is an important issue:

Final appearance of Matter-Eater Lad as a Legionnaire (pre-TMK)

Intro of Calorie Queen

Intro of future LSV members Micro Lad, Esper Lass and Magno Lad

Intro of Sinde

Cosmic Boy in full-on jackass mode, explored further 3 issues later in S/LSH # 215

Don't forget the Legionnaires finally calling Superboy on being a panel-hog! "Super-Buttinsky" I think they called him...
