hello everyone...first post...
this kinda came out of nowhere for me... I will miss dNa... does anyone know anything about the rumors that dNa didn't *want* to leave (referenced in the Pulse article)?

Eryk, you should have put a spolier on that link. There are a few pages from an upcoming issue there, including...

No problem for me but I know there are some here who might have had a problem.
Hell I like spoilers. Never was much for waiting.

Crod! Frak! Sprock! TPTB @ DC are idiots for cutting their run short. I don't care if it's Shakespeare replacing them, DnA deserve the chance to "tidy their loose ends". No wonder they're taking their next project to Marvel. As much as I dislike Giffen, I have to admit that last page looks pretty good.

Proty with a martini glass?!?
I'm not DnA's biggest fan, but I'd have preferred that they ended after they were done telling their stories.

I would have liked to see them finish too, especially the Cub story they didn't get to do. But at least they are focusing on Garth so that makes me happy somewhat.
Like I said at The Pulse, I'm more saddened to be loosing Chris (and Chip). DnA have made their mark in Legion history. I'd like to see Chris continue a lot longer so his run can be compared to the other fan favorites.
And I'm unsure about that Giffen page. But I do know I want a closer look at his Garth in that first panel.

It really does suck that they won't be finishing things up with Cub. I didn't particularly like the storyline, but I shudder to think what might happen to it if it gets diverted from whatever they had planned for it.

Yeah. Chris and Chip should stay as long as they want/need to.
Kitson should work on a new L.E.G.I.O.N. series.

I'm familiar with Waid's work (like Duke I had some peripheral contact due to his work on the Legion index) but I can't recall anything of Kitson's that I've seen in print. Anyone got any examples?
And what about an inker? Does Kitson have a particular one he works with? Any chance of Chip staying on to do the job?

The Cub story will be our one regret about leaving. It would have been great. As it is, we leave it to other teams to figure out what, if anything, they want to do with the character. He'll be shipped off to a nanny on a distant planet and never spoken of again.

HUH???
Chris CAN'T LEAVE!!! He's one of my favorite all-time Legion artists. I loved Kitson on L.E.G.I.O.N. but his art just doesn't fit teen-agers (to me) as well as Batista's does. Batista has AWESOME design sense and is incredible. I'll miss him more than any Legion creator in a VERY long time.

You must watch soap operas ... where they ship babies out of the show for a couple of years and they come back as teenagers. Of course, DNA skipped the whole "shipping him off first" part.

Hey, I just realized. Isn't Steve's and Keith Champagne's issue slated to be number 34? So we get that before entering the Waid/Kitson era with DnA ending on #34.

If DnA had some interesting stories, I wish they would have told them in place of the last 2/5 of Dream Crime or the whole terrorform arc.
I really did like a lot of their writing early on, but it was getting pretty sparse until Foundations. Plus, I always had hope they'd had some plan for bringing Element Lad back. Instead, it looks like more panel time for the Ranzz clan. At least that will hopefully tie some things up for some fans.
I'm uninspired by the news about our artist. I was growing quite fond of Batista. In any case, I guess all one can do is wait and see, and avoid as many spoilers as possible.

Kitson is a good artist. I think he'll do the Legion proud. I am going to miss Batista, though.
I think DnA should have left a year or two ago, when they first started to run out of ideas (as they mentioned in the article). They're good writers and have done a lot for the Legion, in terms of resurrecting their popularity. But in the article they mention that they started subplots without any clear direction or resolution in mind. I think this is telling as to why some arcs went on for too long and others appear to have vanished.

Does anyone else think we'll never get the answer on Tinya's third body now?

I'm actually totally okay with the passing of the torch, about to happen. It's Legion Legacy.

They should have given them at least an extra issue or two. Maybe even blown them out fortnightly again or double-sized it or something if time was so of the essence. Incoming creative teams rarely (not never, that said, but...) do well with well-advanced plotlines like Cub if they touch them at all. They should at least toss their resolution to Waid (IF it is him - the Pulse article doesn't confirm that) for that one, even if he doesn't use it.
