I would probably pick Firestorm because of his unique physical appearance and interesting power. Or maybe Captain Marvel Jr. because he's the most similar existing character to the classic Superboy, and to ensure that the Shazam family of characters is represented in this version of the Legion (as it was by Thunder in the last incarnation).
If the meek shall inherit inherit the Earth, then I at least want Baffin Island - and a property manager to work for me who is made of sterner stuff than I.

I'm against the idea as a general rule, but if it had to be done, I'd stick with tradition and bring in either Superboy or Supergirl.

Hmmm..... if I had to, I guess I'd pick Starfire (at an appropriate age of course), although Jade is also a most excellent idea.

Supergirl. She got screwed out of her Legion membership the last time because they never featured her.

I'd prefer to see none, but if there was any one that would please me, it would be Supergirl.

Yeah, add me to the Supergirl fan club, too. But I'd still keep Captain Marvel Jr., since I really like it when the Legion is very, very large--even if you did almost need a scorecard in the Giffen/Levitz days to keep track of the plot-lines and characters.

None. I always detested the draft idea in the first reboot, since conscription is the opposite of heroism. (Though, yes, some make the most of it. Yet they still shouldn't have to be there.) Not even those with "powers" should ever be forced to fight.
If I were to persuade someone? The current-day Superboy and Supergirl, since they're not really related to Superman, and as "Kingdom Come" suggested, they could take up 30th/31st Century life with minimal disruption, to themselves or others.
... Or has that changed with Supergirl? I'm not convinced that she's "really" from Krypton, for the long storytelling haul. DC has pulled a fast one on us before.

Draft, no.
But if they *had* to pick a 20th Century character - and I hope they never do - I'd say Supergirl.

After some consideration...Captain Comet.
I just think he fits the Legion more than any other 20th century hero.
His origin, powers, etc. He's a sci-fi hero in the same vein the Legion. That Silver Age big robot space aliens feel. He's practically immortal from what I can tell. I think he fits better than Superboy or Mon-El in fact. Especially considering he's pretty obscure and his past won't complicate the Legion much (except his being a member of L.E.G.I.O.N. which I am wondering how Waid/Kitson may tie into the future).

Oh, Captain Comet! I hadn't thought of him. Good choice! My only reservation would be that he is not a youth by any stretch of the imagination.
Actually, I'm hoping that WaK will address the matter of the L.E.G.I.O.N.'s historical place and impact in the 30th century DCU, too.

Speaking of L.E.G.I.O.N., I'd probably go for Stealth. Just powers-wise. She's more of a physical heavy-hitter than most of the current female Legionnaires, plus she's got a fairly unusual and well-defined power (the sound-control thing, without just turning sound into another type of "energy" like Banshee etc. do).
Of course, she's hardly a teen, but I'd love to see her descendant show up as a non-Elseworlds Silent Girl.

Yep. I know this topic is very, very old, and Supergirl's in now. I'm just slowly working my way through the old topics up to the more recent ones.
I think having Bart Allen in it could be interesting (though I doubt that will ever happen, unless there's a Titans crossover), but I'm not quite sure what age would be best. Would it be more interesting to have the early impulse days, before he's learned anything whatsoever about how to not annoy others but after he's learned enough that the more volatile members wouldn't end up killing him, or in his more mature Kid Flash guise? Anything after that just leaves him a little too old for my tastes.
Another interesting one could be Tim Drake. Anyone who could get Young Justice to actually survive through it's birthing pains would have to have some ideas for keeping this version's factions from tearing each other apart. He can be conniving, but he works it for the good of the team, not his personal goals (at least more than Cos and Brainy), and anyone who can stand up to as many members of the Justice League as he has isn't going to intimidate easy.
Hmmm. The first one could make an interesting fan fiction idea...

Mine would be an older character, not a teen. Someone that maybe the Legion had to answer to. Mr. Bones. Just because he's my favorite behind-the-scenes character still currently running around the DCU and I think it would be rather interesting to see him interact with this group.

This topic is hilarious. Look at all the votes for Supergirl, and... here she is!
I'd vote for... it'd have to be someone who isn't too dependent on a supporting cast or anything else present-day. Basically, someone who had cool powers (but not too powerful) and a good basic concept, but had always been underutilized. But still someone who was interesting enough to be a worthwhile addition to the team. And someone from the right age group to be a Legionnaire.
Well, what about Hawk and Dove? That might work.

Remember : It's not technically a suckerpunch if you yell ''DEFEND YOURSELF SPROCKER!'' two seconds before you let him have it.

Stargirl would be kind of fun. And the name would fit!
The only character in all of literature who has been described as "badnass" while using the phrase "vile miscreant."

Still say Captain Comet. Hey he's younger now! I like Bart Allen formerly Impulse/Kid Flash now Flash. I think the Flash's fit the Legion better than the Super's. LL, Mr. Bones? Heh, I actually like him lots as well but in the Legion??? Interesting.

Little Barda could be interesting.
But I think a Brainiac 5 visits Oracle series would be nerdfest worth reading. Especially if Gail Simone wrote it.

Bombshell. She takes on too much energy and finds herself thrown 1000 years into the future, and she's not happy about it. Absolutely hates her new nickname, "Kid Quantum".
