Matthew.

Since I get mine from a subscripton service, the spoilers are usually up for a week before I get to read the issue. I always say I'll wait and not look, but...

Here in OZ, we get our comics on Friday arvo (if lucky) or Saturday. I tend to have two days of desperately holding myself back before popping into the Comic Shop after work on Friday for a relaxing read after work. However... I usually read the Spoilers anyway. Two days is just too long to wait.

I used to read the spoilers and the previews on DC's website but stopped in September. I'd tend to get myself worked up about an issue, and then be let down with the issue itself--especially dream crime, so I've opted for blissful ignorance.

I'm with you there, Awkward Pause Boy. I used to read the spoilers and previews, but I found it jsut killed the mood. I might still enjoy the story, but the plot twists just didn't have any imapact.

I always read the spoilers. They're part of the fun, especially if I don't get my issue for a while. They enable me to follow everybody's discussion and get the jokes.
It's great to see how people's comments compare to the issue when I actually do read it. Even if I've read about every scene, nothing compares to seeing the actual execution on paper - so nothing is "spoiled" for me.
And I agree with Matthew - what if I died without knowing what a great issue this latest one is? No one but a comic fan would appreciate the tragedy in that.

I'm in a similar situation. My comics are sent every two weeks from a subscription service. So, it can be three weeks later until I finally get the issue in my hot little hands. But I'm a spoiler freak anyway... It's not limited to comics either. Movies, ts shows, soaps... I want to know and I want to know now!!!!

I've stopped reading spoliers before reading the issue... I found that I wasn't as swept away as I was before spoilers became commonplace. I wanna hold onto the surprises in life as much as possible... life is already predictable enough! For the same reasons, I don't read CSVU.net or the Survivor site when the episodes are on tape.

I admit to reading the Legion spoilers here when posted. Most weeks, like this one, RL intervenes and I can't get my books for a couple of days, sometimes not for a week or more. And I don't want to be 'out of the loop' for what's happening.

It very much depends on when I expect to get the issue - if I know I'm going to get it the same day or day after, I can usually wait. But if the comics are delayed (either because both my main & backup CBSs didn't get it it - and it tends to be both or neither, and though its rare it HAS happened; or because of a situation such as is expected at Christmas, where an issue's due for the US on Christmas Eve and so it'll probably be Saturday the 27th or even Monday the 29th in the UK )...
