And why is Superboy preventing Garth from saving that ship full of babies on their way to the space-daycare? *choke!!*

And is that a Brain-Globe of Rambat floating beside Imra's head?

And why is LL wearing some sort of cinched-up blue burlap sack instead of his usual hot pants??? Did he lose more than his arm to the beast?

Actually Silicon Dream, if yo look at the earlt issues, LL's trunks did bunch above the belt like that. I never understod why, other than costume variation.

Answers as follows:
Lester Spiffany. They were *evil* babies - if you ever saw the movie "It's Alive" (and I don't recommend it), you'll know what I mean. No. LL did lose more than we all knew, which was why she was perfectly willing to settle for the Proty substitute.
Anything else?

Suddenly I have much more reason to track down the early issues!
I bet channelling thousands of volts through your body without proper training makes it very easy to have "accidents." A trusty pair of royal blue Space-Depends are essential!

Of note: On the original cover, Swan drew Garth flipping Super-Moby the space-bird with his robot hand. It was, of course, edited.

Silicon, if you can't find the originals, go for the Archives. I'd have to check through mine to pick out which edition has the Super-Moby Dick of Space in it. I can assure you that a lot of those early stories were fun to read, even if they weren't big on characterization.

Jeepers! Well, I hope they at least used the remains of the space-ship as a clubhouse for orphaned kids or something!

IIRC, both Ultra Boy and Colossal Boy are shown in spacesuits in that story, but why one of them needed one on this cover, but Garth and Imra didn't is a mystery.

And why does it look like space only goes up about 1/4 of the way, and then becomes kind-of... purple?

You may understand astronomy, but I see you don't understand Super-Astronomy. "Of Space" would be redundant here, wouldn't it?
