You can obviously make comments if you want, but the point of this thread is a simple, obviously unfair, YAY or NAY on the entire threeboot. Since someone will of course point out how such a thread is a little shallow, that's partially the reason for doing it I'll begin: NAY

Nay.
Although I liked a lot of what was done the past 4 years or so. I've always preferred the Legion before Crisis to anything that's come along since.

Nay. I will qualify that by saying I've enjoyed a lot of it and will always be glad that it brought me back into reading the Legion and, a few months after it started, sent me looking for a place online to discuss it and that led me to the coolest spot on the Web!
The only character in all of literature who has been described as "badnass" while using the phrase "vile miscreant."

Waid/Kitson: NAY (started out promising, but way too slow and one-note. Kitson's nice enough but his designs are boring and static)
Bedard/Calero (maybe getting the artist's name wrong): qualified YAY (the story was largely moving some pieces into and out of place, but it showed a good grounding for the characters and setting and was a hell of a lot more interesting than what Waid's writing became. i wouldn't want to have seen the art for every story, but for me it fit this particular story)
Shooter/Manapul: YAY (yes, maybe his whole arc shouldn't have been one main story with generic alien monster invaders, and the Ikonns/Marvel satire thing pretty much sucked, but Shooter brought more story and characterization in one page than Waid brought to 6 very slow issues. Manapul was competent and showed promise, and brought a lively energy to his layouts)
Issue 50: NAY (while it's still not as bad as Legion on the Run, it was a terrible way to bring the series to a close and very unfair to the loyal readers)

I have to say I liked Kitson's art-he draws a gorgeous Supergirl, but overall...
NAY.

Nay!
I do appreciate the threeboot for bringing me into the Legion in a big way and the Dreamgirl issue will always be one of my top fave Legion issues ever. But this version frustrated more than thrilled. I am glad, however, that I got it, it excited me initially, and I had the money and some good LCS's available to hunt down ton of the Levitz run (quarter bin, whoo-hoo!).
Long Live the Legion!

Nay for Waid's run.
Yay for Bedard and Shooter's run.
Waid spent too much time on revisionist Legion stories. Bedard and Shooter gave us new Legion (despite the Waid constrictions).
