While working in a comic shop I actually stooped to trading stock (without my employer's knowledge) for the big-arse Legion poster by Kieth Giffen, and despite de-geeking most of my room, that poster still remains. Then I did the same again, pimping out the shop's goods, for the sake of the brilliant .v4 Legion Sourcebook by the Bierbaums.
What's worse, my RPG group can point at a character and I'll say who or what they are. They still do it as it's a continuing source of amusement, like when we mock the trekkie in the group.
