He shouldn't have picked a fight with Pete.

Pete Ross? If so, what classic "Adventure Comics" Legion tale is this?

(When I saw the thread topic, I first thought "thorn" read "Thora," and mused: Yeah, she's not just a pain in the side wink )

Actually, I was referring to Porcupine Pete. I guess I should have used "quill" rather than "thorn" in the title, but then I lose the whole Smiths/Morrissey connection...

Not to be confused with the boy with Thora in his side.

...which, actually, would probably never happen.

fyi: I've given up that whole "beating cretinous males" thing so as to focus on my new comedy career. Cretins like to laugh, they pay you for it!

Looking forward to your first big show, Thora!

I thought this was going to be a tribute to Chlorophyll Kid - he must have grown a few thorny plants around enemies.

Didn't Sun Emperor flame Thora in LSH 2??

Or was that a different Thora?

Without Chlorophyl Lad, the end of the TMK run would have been called "The Dominators and what's left of the Legion of Super-Heroes!"

When it should have been called "Our Glorious Hero Chlorophyll Kid and His Super Friends".

FC, great title! It was pretty much assumed from issue #30 and beyond that Chlor was referred to by the people of Earth as "Earth's Greatest Champion!"

Unfortunately, after #38, he was called "Floating bunch of metal disk's greatest Champion!"

Darn, I thought this was going to be a thread about the Smiths.

Since I'm having a craptacular day, it was nice to open up LW homepage and see a Smiths song title! Always brightens up my day to think of Morrissey's music (even though the music itself is rarely "cheery"!)...

Hm. Perhaps Pete needs to toughen up and get edgier for his next appearance, whatever boot that might be. He's basically the Wolverine of the Subs power wise!

I hear the Legionnaires got together and voted who was the best-looking of all the guys in the Legion. Porcupine Pete finished second.

And all the others were tied for first.
