I have some questions I wondered if anyone could help me with since I am a new reader.

1) Sensor Girl - why did Projectra become Sensor Girl? What exactly were her powers? Was it because they wanted to make her more effective in combat?

2) When did Dreamer join the group in the Legionaires run?

3) So Lightning Lad's arm was destroyed in every incarnation of the team?

4) When did Karate Kid start training martial arts to Dream Girl?

5) Was Dream Girl ever in an issue that dealt with the team fighting Mordu the Wizard?

Thanks to any who can help!

5) Dream Girl (both older and SW6 younger versions) fought Mordru and Glorith in the Zero Hour issue.

She, her sister Mysa and Projectra were also credited for defeating Mordru in Adventure #370, although this was confined to two panels, told in flashback.

Offhand I don't recall any other encounters.

Projectra married Karate Kid and they lived happily together on her homeworld of Orando. A new incarnation of the Legion of Super-Villains conquered Orando and set a trap for the Legion of Super-Heroes, who showed up and lots of fighting commenced. Karate Kid gave his life to blow up the machinery the LSV was using to keep Orando 'locked down,' and the heroes beat up the bad-guys. In the final fight, the man who had been most directly responsible for Karate Kid's death, Nemesis Kid, was killed by Queen Projectra in hand to hand combat.

The whole 'Legion Code against Killing' barely even came up, as she resigned from the Legion immediately, stating that her Queenly duties were more important.

Several months later, Saturn Girl, Lightning Lad and Cosmic Boy chose to retire, and tryouts were held to allow for some new blood. One of those people, pushed to the front of the line by Saturn Girl, was the masked Sensor Girl, whom Saturn Girl said deserved to be a Legionnaire for the best reason of all, because 'she's already been a Legionnaire before.'

According to gossip, originally Sensor Girl was supposed to be Supergirl, having only her Kryptonian sensory powers, for some reason, but that idea was canned at the last moment, and Sensor Girl was re-envisioned as a masked Projectra.

Back on Orando, as the new story goes, her various mystical advisors gave her the power to see through the 'illusions of the world,' which gave her some sensory powers, and also prompted her to surrender her claim to the throne, saying that she now saw that temporal power was just another of life's illusions. As Sensor Girl she rejoined the team and used her super-senses and illusion-casting powers more secretively (and thus effectively) than before.

Whether or not the sort of 'cheap' way she sidestepped any consequences for the killing of Nemesis Kid was addressed in-story, I'm not sure, but given the circumstances, I imagine that most of the team would be willing to give her a pass on executing the man responsible for the assault on her world and the death of her husband, a fellow Legionnaire!

1)Jeckie become sensor girl as penance in her world's view that she caused the devastation brought on it by the legion of super villans. Her vision of her ancestors gave her the new gift of new powers. Powers to cast her illusions more effectively and powers to see beyond the 'illusions' of the world. Illusions of distances, height, length and so forth. As for the other question hmmmm can't help you there really but since she was originally (well Sensor Girl anyway) going to be Supergirl...who knows.

3) so far not in this reboot it hasnt.

4) there hasn't been a specific issue where it "started" so its been behind t he scenes

1) at the time, Queen Projectra had led her people off into another dimension (v.3, #5). About a year later, the founders opted to retire, and Saturn Girl asked the Legion to accept the mysterious Sensor Girl as her replacement. At the time in DC Comics, Supergirl had been killed off, and there was a lot of speculation Sensor Girl was she; Brainy became obsessed with the idea. So it was basically a ploy to build an interesting mystery, rather than a more combative role.

Her powers were expanded to include more sensory information collection, and hiding that she was Projectra made her illusions more effective - if you don't know you're facing a famous illusion-caster, you're more likely to accept what you see.

2) She technically joined in The Legion #23, at the end of the Dream Crime storyline. She first appeared as I recall during the team tryouts in which Umbra and Dirk Magz joined. She was rejected, and was only a supporting character as Thom's g/f. In DnA, she became a relied-upon resource, but not yet a member till Dream Crime (part one was especially a good focus on her, as the sole non-telepath among Titanians).

3) not in the current series, unless it happened in #40 which I haven't read yet.

4) I'm not sure.

5) Besides the one Cramer cites, there was an alt-reality story in v.2 #300: Nura, Mysa and Jeckie are among those who use spellcraft to defeat Mordru in a reality in which Mordru won the Earthwar.

4) I'm not sure I recall any scenes where Karate Kid was directly shown training Dream Girl. He is given credit for training a lot of the Legionnaires in martial arts. The reboot Dreamer received her combat training from the Khunds as first depicted in the Legion Worlds mini seiries, if I recall correctly. It was really a great development her. She was initally reintroduced in the reboot as a ditzy narcoleptic - more comedy relief than anything else. She spent the year of Legion Lost with the Khunds and came back very intense and very formidable.

DnA stands for Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning, the writing team that took over the Legion books right before the Legion Lost mini (which they wrote).

They were the ones that ended the LSH and Legionnaires books, as well as launched 'The Legion'. They wrote most of that book and the one related Secret Files issue up until a few months before the book was cancelled to make way for Mark Waid and Barry Kitson's new Legion series.

I found an image on a Legion site that showed Dream WOMAN, Brainy 5 and Saturn WOMAN. I am guessing it was from an issue dealing with a possible future timeline?? It looked like normal Ultra Boy was there.

Does anyone know what issue it is??

I can't access Myspace; I quit and the page isn't viewable to joe public.

There was an "adult Legion," an older version of the 60s Legion with the same costumes and names like you describe, that appeared semiregularly in the Superman books of the 60s, and made a couple appearances in regular Legion books, twice in the 60s and once in the early-mid 80s. They also appeared a couple years ago in Superman/Batman.

The image is the "Adult Legion" from Superman/Batman. Its volume 3 in the Trade Paperbacks of the series (one of the better arcs in that series.)

Generally in the 1960s, Superboy would visit the future and find the Legion as teenagers while Superman would visit the future and see his childhood friends as middle aged adults. Though the adult Superman interacted with the teenaged LSH too.

The revelation of marriage/deaths in adult legion stories was considered to be the future of LSH continuity until the 1980s when they were made into an alternate timeline.

yes, and just in those panels.

it was the tail end of a multi-part story with the 3 Legion of Super-Villains; the Adult Legion cameos only came at the end.
