Rokk Krinn was quite a dynamic character in the WKRP era. At least you knew, unmistakably, that he's the leader from any appearance in this series. To some, he seemed to be one of Waid's unfortunate mistakes, and has since been whisked away in limbo. Should he ever come back, and if so, when and how?
I'm not buying the Knights Tempus gimmick, but it'd be amusing if they were yet another incarnation of CK/SQ/LL.

Wait; what are you asking? If we think he should come back, or if-and-when we think he will come back? Two different things.

Well, if you think he should return, then you got the top three options. If Cos should be back, 'good as new' by Lo3W, trapped by an evil plot, or aged. If not, the last one.

I didn't like your options, in all honesty. I just "trapped" by default - I'd like him to voluntarily be gone for quite a while.
Cos has almost always been part of the focal group since late 1989, in various incarnations of Legion. It wouldn't be bad to let him recede into the background for several years. L3W can feature other Rokks.

Yeah, this Rokk is more like Sgt. Rock than any Krinn we knew before. I'm not sure I like a Cosmic Boy that behaves like he's a Dox. Let him stay in future-adventure-land for a while and bring him back later with a rockin sockin-time travel-future adventure-space-story!
ps I like the "hyper aged" option. very old skool ACTION

Hell, half of Threeboot might as well be from the House of Dox. Waid did quite a favour just before he left the run, but characters like Rokk could still have potential - once "weakness" become an integral theme of the series.

"Trapped" makes sense to me, since him just waltzing off with three strangers who gave him a flattering story wasn't a very careful thing to do. Whether they were really from the 41st century or not wouldn't matter - and they wouldn't even have to be intentionally evil - but Cos shouldn't just pop back into the story like he's been on vacation.
I haven't missed him at all, but don't think he should be eradicated.

I like this idea: at first, Cos is flattered by the fawning of the Knights Tempus but soon he discovers they're seriouly whacked out fan boy/girls who never intended to return him to his own time. He manages to escape for LO3W, but the experience changes him - he becomes a little less anal and pompous, and doesn't yap on so much anymore.

Fanboy/girls?? Heck, that actually made A-Rod, Wino, and Peter André worse.
Hopefully, Shooter could do his neutralizing treatment to our own little Tangent version of Rokk, once he 'returns', as he did to the bulk of the Legion.

Heh, well, that may not mean much... I'll go that far to say that 3boot Cos 'appearing' on big Cos' _back_ hand a hint.

I think he should simply stay in the future.
I actually liked Waid's Cos. He gave him much more of that 'leader' persona, despite the situations. He seemed like Mark's baby of the run, and if nothing else he should remain in the future.

I'd like to see him return to take up the mantle of leadership again for the 3W crisis. Brainy's all forceful and decisive and stuff, but everyone really listens to Rokk.
I agree to a certain extent that WaK's Rokk wasn't really much like earlier interpretations of the character, but I feel like when he was leader before, the writers didn't really have a strong focus on strong characterization. Once you get to the Levitz era, he's kind of the elder statesman of the Legion. In the Archie Legion, he was kind of ineffectual. There has to be a reason that the Legion really respects him as much as they do and I really felt that the force of personality that WaK gave him fostered that respect. He was a strong leader and the team will probably need that for 3W.

And I'd say Cos is the single best contribution of M&K entire run.

I agree. Pre-TMK, Rokk was the first leader and the one who swore in new leaders/presided over internal trials, but v.4 #1 really began the era when Cos was THE core of the group, a trend that has followed through in SW6, Reboot and Threeboot.
While it works, and works well, I still advocate that some time on the shelf would be good for Threeboot Rokk. If L3W needs a central leader, let it be Preboot Rokk.

you know i think rokk is the quintessential, responsible, put-upon Legion leader, but i think we've had other really good leaders that over shadowed because of he's so classic (i really liked Kid Quantum's run).
i want rokk to come back because he's one of those that are "core" legionnaires to me and i like seeing the founders interact.
...and early on, manapul drew a really awesome picture of the three founders and i want him to draw rokk so bad!!!

I really have to wonder if the disappearance of Rokk and the disappearance of Lu & Val in the most recent issue are tied into Lo3W. Yes, the people who took Rokk told him they were from the 41st century, and they may well have been, but I suspect they were actually beginning to recruit the initial army for the battle with the Time Trapper & Superboy Prime's LSV.
Heck, they could have been descendants of the Legion with knowledge of the Time Trappers ploy this time. It would all fit and lead right into Lo3W.
Of course it could have been an appearance by Rip Hunter and Booster Gold also in attempting to fix the Time Trappers manipulation of the Time Stream.
Either way, I suspect all three will play an integral part of the upcoming Lo3W.

Since Time Trapper is the main villain in L3W and Cos was one of the Time Trappers at least in one of the Legion versions (a trick as lousy as Captain Atom as Monarch, IMHO).

... Come to think of it, it might as well be Cos, alive and well. Hopefully not. But taking one of Waid's last-minute sub-sub-plots and indirectly tying it into Lo3W? Unclassy.
