After reading the first issue and not being completely sold on it, I came to the second issue with some doubt. I'm happy to say that I absolutely loved it! This felt right, at least as right as the Legion has felt in... fifteen years?
I was afraid after the first issue that this Legion would be nothing but a rehash of the old "generation gap" story over and over again. While there were elements of that here, I was happy to learn there was more going on than just that. A coming galactic war? Can't wait to see it.
Interesting enough - in the fanfic series I write I've hinted at a Nura/Dox relationship in their pre-Legion days. Although I approached from the angle of Nura being a scientist as well. I wonder if that has changed in this version? She did seem to know her way around the equipment the Naltorans used to interrupt the dreams of their young people. I hope she maintains that part of her character history.
I also like that her visions are open to interpretation.
I was a little disappointed to find the cover had nothing to do with the story. Hopefully this issue will only help the Legion climb the sales charts.
