I just got my first Legion comic book yesterday, Legionaires 3 (spelling). April 1986. Got it for 1 dollar at the flea market! I had been so upset cause I had missed it on tv but then we found it at one of the little stands. It was awsome. I was slightly disappointed though because it didn't have Querl or Lyle in it. I am still very proud of it and am keeping it constantly in it's case. I bought it in near MINT-CONDITION. We couldn't see any damage done to it at all. Unfortunatly, my baby cousin fell on top of me (and the book) while I was reading it and bent the cover. I was freaking out.

Wow. That's not a very good representative of a Legion comic, IMHO. Hopefully, you'll have the opportunity to obtain any of the regular series' out there.

If there's a comic book store near you, Copycat Girl, the back issues bins usually have some old Legion comics for a dollar or so. Good luck searching!

I didn't even know there still were comic book stores anymore. I'm just gonna keep my eyes open for other ones. My aunt says she has a whole bunch of comics someone gave her so I'm gonna check to see if she has any of them. Merry Christmas by the way!

And if your local shops are lacking in Legion (current or back issues), try a convention! You're in Georgia, right? So Dragon Con shouldn't be too far away... and it's upposed to be a pretty good con! Some dealers will have expensive back issues, but some will have boxes and boxes of bargain comics, and there is usually some LSH in them.

PS The point of the Legionnaires 3 miniseries was to focus on the 3 founding members, who at that point in the main book had stepped back to let the younger heroes run the team without them; none of the other issues really include other Legionnaires.
Even for fans of the original 3, this mini wasn't very good.

Dragon*Con isn't a straight up comics con (but it's a great time), so while there are comics dealers there, there aren't as many bargain boxes as you might find at a regular comics show.
Come to think of it, I'm not sure anybody had a bargain table there this year.
Going to a show is still a great idea, however.

Copycat Girl,
You might also want to consider buying the trade paperback of the Great Darkness Saga. I would say that is the definitive story from the Levitz era of the Legion.

I think its great that you picked up a Legion comic!
Hopefully you'll see a store or get ahold of a copy of another issue with your favorites in it. And the comic based on the cartoon is due to be out sometime in 2007...
