Can you identify the issue and/or origin of these drawings?

For those of you that don't know, I make custom action figures. I am trying to put together a Custom Action figure of a rebooted Insect Queen, but I am not finding adequate reference material from my comic collection. The shots I have seen of her are either from a distance with no detail, or from the side, or as a grub/worm. The best drawings I have found of her so far have been online...

Lee Moder\'s Uncanny Amazers (scroll down to bottom of page)

These are helpful, but they are stll kinda small. I'm assuming these are in some Legion issue, and I was hoping that somebody would remember the number of the issue about where they were published. Any help would be appreciated.

I bet these images are from Legion of Super-Heroes #82 (3rd series). It is the first appearance of the Amazers, and was drawn by Moder.

IIRC, the next appearance of the Amazers was in Legionnaires. They helped fight Mordru in #49 and #50 and the aftermath in #51, but these were all drawn by Jeff Moy.

Moder left the Legion book before Insect Queen appeared in Legion #101 (drawn by Jason Armstrong) which leads into another Amazers involved story in #102 & 103, and Legionnaires #59 & 60. Skip the Armstrong art unless you really need other perspectives (IMHO, bleah!)

The Amazers made an appearance in "Legends of the Legion" featuring the origin of Star Boy.

Some of the Amazers and Legionnaires also appeared in James Robinson's Starman book, issue #50. Insect Queen was there, but only for a couple of panels.

I think these issues are your best chances of finding some I.Q. material. Good luck in your efforts!

You nailed it right on the head with LOSH #82. The Star Boy Legends issue has a good drawing of her too. I had completely forgot about The Amazers and The Legion "fighting" each other.

You have earned the "Omni" in front of your Craig as far as I'm concerned. Thank you very much.
