i don't like to do negative posts, but...the colors are continuing to impede my enjoyment of the beautiful and detailed art every issue. it was a bit funky in the beginning with Dream Girl having yellow hair and Shadow Lass too pale. But every new creative team needs a few issues to start to gel. but enough time has passed now. in the latest issue, which i enjoyed quite a bit, EVERY scene is darkly lit. Brainy's lab, the Princess's quarters, the Legion wanting to hop thru the portal, and EVEN the snow scene is dark!
usually, there's a local color (ex:brainy's skin is green, he wears purple)which is a medium tone, then there's both a lighter end of the spectrum to indicate the light source, and a darker one for shadow. this colorist seems to start with the local color of the object or character and adds dark tones to that, but they don't do the lighter tones! everyone's face has a little strip of the local color where the light is hitting but is mostly the dark, shadowy tone. IN EVERY SCENE!!! where Sun Boy powers up to nova levels, it should be blindingly bright. the Legionnaires in the room should be almost yellowey white where they face SB and deep shadow behind. instead it looks like a nice warm campfire lighting the room. the snow scene looks like it's dusk because there's so much murky tones on the characters. look at Ultra Boy's "red" shirt!! it's brown! the sky is grey. the snow and ice are mostly blueish grey. PLEASE steve Wacker, or Barry, please say something to the colorist. it's really a drag. anyone else agree?

I've invited Chris Blythe to join us here when he has the time and he said he would once he got caught up on his assignments.

Hopefully, he can answer many of yours and others concerns soon.

I think the coloring is intentionally done dark.
If you consider the very first pages of issue 1, the rendering of history is bright and colorful until you get closer to the 31st century.

The dark coloring underlines serious problems the 31st century "utopia" really has. That said, I still would prefer a brighter Legion myself. The first six issues have been very gloomy indeed.

To me, the color scheme suggests that the 31st century is dominated by a feeling of "artificial-ness." This artifical feeling seems to encompass more than just their lighting and permeates into the very society that these characters live in.

I've said it many times before: "I like the coloring of this run."
