So I had this dream in which I was reading a new Legion series, and it featured a Legion composed of about 100 members. These included some former villains and also some completely unfamiliar characters. I enjoyed the dream so much that, on waking up, I decided to compose a list of the possible membership of a 100-person Legion. And here it is:
THE LEGION OF 100 SUPER-HEROES 1. Andromeda 2. Atmos 3. Babbage 4. Beauty Blaze 5. Blok 6. Blood Claw 7. Bouncing Boy 8. Brainiac 5 9. Calamity King 10. Canine Boy (Cannus) 11. Captain Marvel Jr. (Thunder) 12. Catspaw Lass 13. Chameleon Boy 14. Chemical King 15. Chlorophyll Kid 16. Color Kid 17. Colossal Boy 18. Comet Queen 19. Computo (Danielle) 20. Cosmic Boy 21. Crystal Kid 22. Dawnstar 23. Dragon Lad (Dragonmage) 24. Drama Queen (Yera) 25. Dream Boy 26. Dream Girl 27. Duplicate Boy 28. Element Lad 29. Emerald Empress (Cera Kesh) 30. Esper Lass 31. Evolvo Lad 32. Ferro Lad 33. Fire Lad 34. Firefist 35. Flat Lad (Ron-Karr) 36. Flederweb 37. Gas Girl 38. Gates 39. Gear 40. Teen Lantern (Jordana Gardner) 41. Impulse Kid 42. Infectious Lass 43. Inferno Girl 44. Insect Queen 45. Invisible Kid (Lyle) 46. Karate Kid (Val) 47. Kid Flash (Jenni) 48. Kid Quantum (Jazmin) 49. Kinetic Kid (Zoe) 50. Kono Girl 51. Lamprey Lass 52. Life Lass 53. Light Lass 54. Lightning Lad 55. Magnetic Kid 56. Matter-Eater Lad 57. Mentalla 58. Mon-El 59. Monster Lass 60. Nemesis Kid 61. Neon Girl (Celeste) 62. Network Lass (Theena) 63. Nightwind 64. Orion the Hunter 65. Phantom Girl 66. Polar Boy 67. Porcupine Pete 68. Power Boy (Jed Rikane) 69. Quislet 70. Radiation Roy 71. Reflex Boy (Devlin) 72. Rond Vidar 73. Saturn Girl 74. Sensor Girl 75. Shadow Lass 76. Shikari 77. Shrinking Violet 78. Silver Slasher 79. Spider Girl 80. Splitter Lad (Arm-Fall-Off Boy) 81. Star Boy 82. Stone Boy 83. Sun Boy 84. Superboy (Clark) 85. Supergirl (Kara) 86. Superman-X (Kel-El) 87. Super-Monkey (Beppo) 88. Tellus 89. Timber Wolf 90. Titania 91. Triplicate Girl 92. Tyroc 93. Ultra Boy 94. Urk (little gray guy from the Academy) 95. Veilmist 96. Visi-Lad 97. Weirdo Legionnaire (Proty II) 98. White Witch 99. Wildfire 100. Zymyr 101. Night Girl 102. Invincible Girl (Laurel Kent) 103. Plaid Lad 104. Dev-Em 105. Devil-Fish 106. Quantum Queen
Who did I miss? If the Legion's membership could be this large, which other characters should be included?

Maybe some of the Wanderers. Night Girl. I have an idea for how Plaid Lad could be a really cool character. I always thought Aqualad was a good candidate for traveling to the 31st century and joining up. Kon-El. And I'd rather substitute new characters for some of your villains and less plausible rejects.

I don't even have to review your list (though I will shortly) to say that I would LOVE such a thing. The more the merrier. Sure, many members might not be seen for a year or so at a time, but better than NEVER being seen at ALL. WOW. I'd love it. Just the other day I was looking at some of my pseudocomics I drew as a kid (yes, I've kept them all these years... I'm thinking of making fun of them over in the BITS forum) and one thing I always seemed to do was have GOBS of characters running around. Now to review your list and condemn you for leaving out someone I love!

Well, you included Infectious Lass and Super-Monkey, so no complaints here! Although I prefer Lamprey as a lass! And I *SO* wanna here the Plaid Lad proposal!

The exclusion of Night Girl was a mistake -- I thought I wrote her name down but I guess not. And I forgot Lamprey was female.
I, too, would like to hear more about Plaid Lad.
(EDIT: I also forgot about Laurel Gand.)

It's a real "Dream" Legion. And I love that little guy..."Urk?" Maybe those "flying fish" Legion Academy Cadets, too? A few more non-humanoid members would be cool! I'd also like "Lume". He(?) was very different and looked quite beautiful and serene. I'm sure he'd become great friends with Mysa.

Wait, you have both Andromeda and Laurel Gand? What's up with that? Two that I'd really like to include: Jacques Foccard (perhaps with different, Jericho-like powers) and Lazon, my favorite LSA member.
Wow, one hundred members and we are still complaining that some people are left out. Fun, though.

Rainbow Girl's "updated" power (splitting in 4 different forms with a special power for each form) would be great too. I don't know how I forgot Dori, especially after using her as inspiration for some fan art I made!!

You mean Laurel *Kent*, right, not Laurel Gand?
Well, my idea for Plaid Lad is this. Here's a guy who knows he has lame powers, but he's still a superhero at heart and wants to contribute. So he joins Toastmasters and takes courses on public speaking and etiquette and political science and basically schools himself in the ways of diplomacy. (And of course he's become more expert in physical combat. But all Legionnaires are supposed to do that, right?)
Now he's like the Legion's ambassador. He's charismatic and likeable and gets along with everybody. If the Legion needs someone to smooth things out with Earthgov, Plaid Lad is their man. If some loose cannon has barricaded himself in a room with some hostages and a gun, Plaid Lad can calm him down and defuse the situation. Any time the Legion wants to apply a light touch to a situation, they can send in Plaid Lad. Not necessarily alone!
And eventually he and the other Legionnaires come to realize that his power is more than just a pretext to have him on the team. It really does help him out a little bit. Because it means that he understands patterns on a deep level. He can, for instance, sight-read binary. Some (not all) of the most unbreakable codes are completely transparent to him. 21st-century bar codes, for instance, would be like see-Spot-run stuff as far as he's concerned. Basically, he'd be as smart as Brainy for anything involving patterns (even patterns involving human behaviour). And his powers would also let him visually present this kind of information, not that this would often be really useful.
That sound good to anyone?

It sounds very good and original, proving that when one has your imagination and creativity even the "lamest" power and "character" can become a great addition to the Legion! In only a few words: I love it!

How come Andromeda, Atmos, Babbage, Blok, B5, Gates and Gear (amongst others) get to keep their names, but poor XS gets The Worst Name Ever, and Inferno, Thunder, Dragonmage, Kinetix and others get downgraded to bad names?

I agree with reboot in that I would prefer Kinetix, Thunder, Inferno and others keep their non-lad/lass/boy/girl/kid names. But props on making the list and including peoplelike Babbage, Theena and others. Sweet!

I added a few more characters, and replaced Cary Wren with Teen Lantern, who I had totally forgotten about.
Princess Xenobia might also be a good choice, but I have yet to read that issue.

How about a new Dynamo Boy or Girl. Echo? I like the idea of the original Wanderers, the Substitute Heroes, as well as the Heroes of Lallor joining. I would also like to see a 31st century teen New God in the mix.

Ironically, I for my part always felt that XS WAS The Worst Name Ever... it was her character and crappy code-name that made me hate the Reboot instantly. Talk about a bad start - you just can't undo it...

I never cared for the name "XS" either.
And I'm nominating Rainbow Girl again. She didn't just make pretty colors, guys!
