#1- Invisible Kid is made leader (mainly because he was never part of the stories), to give fans a chance to see him! In the Devil's Dozen storyline, he really shows his leadership qualities...by decking Ultra Boy in the face for disobeying orders! To protect the identity of Sir Prize and Miss Terious, Lyle knocks Jo down knowing that he's using his ultra vision and not his invulnerability. For the rest of Legion history, he'd always be referred to as one of the Legion's best leaders, but this is by far my favorite moment of his term!
What are some other great Legion Leader moments?

For my, Lyle's best moment was during the "Outcast Legionnaires" story when he was stuck at his parents house.
I has much older when I finally tracked down the "Devil's Dozen" story, but was still a teenager when I read the "Outcast Legionnaires." Perhaps that's why Lyle's resourcefulness in outwitting his parents stuck with me.
My other fav moment is When Wildfire was elected. I was real young when I read that, pre-teen. I may have liked it because this was the first story I read which intimated that these teens elected their own leaders, or it may have been the way Drake gave 'ol Superboob the most massive smack-down!

I liked Lyle's depiction during "Outcast Legionnaires" too.
I've also always liked Saturn Girl's depiction as she prepared to battle Zaryan. --If only more leaders would shamelessly manipulate the other Legionnaires more often.

Cos' crocodile tears to RJ Brande during the (postboot) President Chu take-down storyline. Never would've thought Cos had it in him to be so sneaky.

I've gotta agree that Lyle's leadership of the Legion & resourcefulness during the Outcast storyline is one of the best depictions of real leadership ever portrayed.

My favourite? Anything Nura did during the Great Darkness! But her best moment was when she announced she was running for Legion Leader - and seeing the reactions from Ultra Boy and Wildfire.

A memorable leader moment for me was when a powerless Rokk faced down Mordru during a conversation at dinner (He and Cham were "co-leaders" at the beginning of TMK).

Lyle did a pretty good job as the SW6 leader too--those were some tough circumstances.

All great Legion leader moments!
Lyle and Imra are who I consider the best leaders during the Silver Age, then Dreamy and Jan during Levitz's run, and then Cos ever since then. Cos in TMK, especially the Mordru scene, was great!
And I loved all of the Dream Girl stuff when she was leader, from breaking her nail, to having too many Legionnaires go shopping for cruisers although it was a blatant attempt at easing Cos' grief over his parent's fire-bombing.

Jan actually demonstrated good leadership abilities during his term. He dealt well with the "Who is Sensor Girl" issue and if I'm not mistaken, with the Glorith conspiracy...both very difficult times for the team.

I liked Cosmic Boy during the "President Chu take down". He was working behind the scenes and doing things the other's hated him for. Back stabbed his best friend, Garth. Took no end of crap from the other Legionnaires. And then still carried on and did what need to be done. Leadership isn't pretty and sometimes you have to do things that you'd much rather not. He did all that and still tried to "be true" to himself.
Showed a tremendous amount of character.
Also when they were stuck in the 20th Century and Inferno and some of the others rebelled. His speech on what the Legion meant and being scared and them needing to stick togethr. It showed his willingness to reveal his own inadequaceies to keep the team going.
Questions of morality are often matters of taste
