Wow. This might just be the most beautiful of Barry's covers yet. Who's that? Lemnos? IK? Or, dare I say it...Mon-el?

again? the Legion s still MAD at Invisible Kid? Huh?

Even the solit writers are anxious to get the team together and into some real action!

At first, I was secretly pish-poshing people's complaints about the seeming lack of unity of the current LSH, as I was enjoying the focus on single members or sall groups of members. But 10 issues *does* seem a bit long to wait for the team to fight together, in unison... and when you consider that the LSH is splintered into sub-groups by this point, the complaints seem even more valid.

I wonder if this will be an expanded Terror Firma (maybe all the beings we saw in that Otherspace panel)? It only took three legionnaires (or two plus Brin) to defeat them the first time.

Even with the full team "together", we still have squabbles over leadership? Or does that solicit imply that we the readers won't know if there's been a leadership change or not?

And that cover does look really nice! I'll bug Barry for the black and white after the solicitations go public on the 20th, though.

It does look like Ultra Boy's upset with a back-turned, soon-to-be-Invisible Kid...I wonder what Lyle did to merit it...perhaps he's a spy???

Here's a bit bigger look at the cover:

Nice, very nice. It seems to me we have a pretty good idea who's on Cosmic Boy's side now (Lyle may be torn between the two factions). The covers of #9 and #10 may also provide clues to the identity of the Legionnaire who quits in issue #8. Here's a short list of characters who have not appeared on a cover, or been mentioned in solicitations, after #8.

Atom Girl/Violet (unless she's a speck)
Lightning Lad
Saturn Girl
Sun Boy (unless that's him behind Phantom Girl in the inked version of #9)

If that's not Karate Kid behind Ultra Boy, then add him to the short list as well. Sun Boy seems like the obvious candidate but something very strange is up with Lightning Lad and Saturn Girl, too. I think it's fairly safe to conjecture that the founding trio will be divided in the coming months.

Sooo...
Invisible Kid still glum. Someone other than Cos shouting at him at least.
And something looking very much like the upside-down spaceship.

IK will probably be the one who manages to pull the team back together after the split. It would fit him...

Also, I wonder if Barry put two images together like he did with issue #5's cover.

Bet he did. Can't wait to see the pencils on this one.

Glad to read most of you like the cover - it was one of my favorites!

Here's a scan of the pencils and one of the inks with my placement for the logo - I've sent a much better scan of the inks and one of the half-inked stage to Nigthcrawler so hopefully I can post those too very shortly.

Is that Lyle disappearing, remembering or imagining? Beautiful cover - and it makes me think that the series has a lot of mental/thought battles going on in this series (whether or not this is the case).
