Hmmm, how fast can I say … NO? It was during Moy’s tenure that I almost gave up the book after 20+ years of continuous collecting. Very few eras rank lower than this period IMO.
No more X-babies please!

Moy did a great job capturing both personalities. I do wonder how Vi managed to loose every stitch of clothing except her hairband, though.

I'd say he fit the stories very well. I wouldn't follow him to another series, but I would like to see him draw any Legion again.

I LOVE Jeff Moy's Legion... when he's inked by WC Carani.
When he's inked by Phil Moy... not so much.

Phil Moy's art is a bit rougher, yes. When he works with Jeff, the hair of the characters tends to stick up at odd angles.
Jeff Moy still draws the best Gates ever, and he does Kinetix's hair perfectly.

Jeff Moy still draws the best Gates ever,... Nope. While I liked his art in general, he never got Gates right for me - his eyes and head were both too round and too small, and he made him hairy. Lee Moder was the definitive Gates artist as far as I'm concerned.

When he's inked by Phil Moy... not so much. THIS. I was so excited when I saw that Jeff would be drawing the Star Trek/Legion crossover! But then I opened it up and...well...underwhelmed is the only word I can use to describe it. The art just looked BAD. And I'm not sure if Jeff's style had changed or if the inking was what threw it off. But i'll take the Moy/Carani combo any day!

Lee Moder was the definitive Gates artist as far as I'm concerned. I generally preferred Moy art to Moder's, and with Gates it was no exception. I actually liked the rounder eyes and head and the hair for Gates. It made him look more relatable, to me anyway. I LOVE Jeff Moy's Legion... when he's inked by WC Carani.

In LSH/Star Trek, I noticed the older characters also had more lines on their faces. Inker: Phil Moy. Compare to his Legionnaires work - Xotar in Legionnaires 68, or his audience members in Legionnaires 38. Inker for both is W.C. Carani. Although somewhat older than the Legionnaires, their faces are relatively smooth. Moy and Carani make them look older without too much shading or too many lines. Here's a very early sample of his art - Winema Wazzo in Legionnaires 0. Inker: Ron Boyd.
