Not what attracted me to the place in the first place, but ......

Seriously though, read it a lot about 20 odd years ago (Great Darkness etc.) along with so much other stuff that was brought into the house by my elder brother, and occasionally Keith too.

Kinda gave up when I left home, but Keith suggested I try the site just over 2 years ago, and I've been here, and trying to keep up to date ever since - so there's a big gap in my knowledge base.

Never got the hang of the last run, 'cos I didn't know who the smeg everyone was. Enjoying WaK, but can't wait til they get to the point.

Serious ass needs kicking, and I'm sure they're the people to do it.

And I'm just now realizing that this one doesn't have a close date. Semi, when would you like this to end?

Hell I didn't even drop the Titans because of Liefeld. But the one name that could get me close to dropping the Legion would have to be Byrne. Either writing or eek drawing. I'd probably still get the book but I don't know if I could bring myself to read it.

Jeesh, I really thought I did specify a closing date when I set it up becasue I remember thinking about how long it should stay open. I decided on 2 weeks. This is my first poll, so it's quite possible I made a mistake --- anyway, I'd appreciate it if you would fix it and have it close on October 29. Thanks.

I don't read LSH faithfully, but at times--like now--it's my #1 book. It's almost entirely dependent on the creative team (though, to DnA's not-exactly-credit, they almost drove me away by the end of their run.)

But I will say I've found older runs of LSH to be far more consistently entertaining than those of any other book/character/group...it seemed to weather creative team changes unusually well. It also comes the closest--after Flash/Impulse--to being a group I'm interested in for the characters themselves. I'm not a fanfic writer, but I understand the impulse when the Legionverse is involved.

Been reading LSH faithfully since Adventure 323 and I have no intention of disrupting that streak!

First post so I really must apologize. Please don't kill me, or revoke my membership; I've collected Legion (and its spin-off titles) since the Legendary Keith Giffen runs since the 1980s (and even some downloads of the Adventure stories), but have stopped with Mr. Waid's incarnation. I have truly enjoyed stories even from the various versions (Great Darkness, 5 Years After,Terra Mosaic, Lost in the 2oth Century, Legion Lost,Robotica, etc.) so I know I'm not a total purist, but I'm not really sure whether the constant rebooting finally got to me, but I don't feel much like a Legionnaire with this latest series (even though Mr. Waid's dialogue is still running true to form). Maybe my age has caught up with me, I'm not sure. Sorry again.

Yah, I'm definitely feelin' the love here (for the Legion, that is). I'm sort of a sap, though, I think I'd love the Legion too much to see it go through the hands of Austen, Rob Liefeld, Mr. Byrne, or Dan Jurgens. Hey, is there a poll for the Creative Dream team for Legion? Have you noticed that Legion (at least the previous ones) is the breeding ground of artists extraordinaire? Mr. Giffen, Jason Pearson, Stuart Immonen, Lee Moder, Jason Armstrong and Olivier Coipel got significant breaks from the Legion! LLL!!!

It's Ok Mon. We accept all opinions of informed Legion readers. We're just nice people like that...that's why it hurts me so much to inform you now that by the order of the executives at Warner we'll have to shoot you at sunrise, eliminate all evidence of your existance and retcon a replacement for you so people quit asking for your to return to the series.

Would you care for a cigarette or a blindfold?

Cigarette AND a blindfold! Yeh!
(But can I suddenly switch with my replacement, so that when he escapes execution and returns to form an army of villains for revenge, I can form a counter-group of only six members to... oh waitaminit...)
Anyway, you're too kind...

Oh no. We've been through Laurel Gand, Eltro Gand, Proteans that marry telepaths, a trio of Kid Quantums, a Superboy or two and LOtR (Legion On the Run) thankyouverymuch.

Legionnaire executions are commonly performed by one of the Fatal Five or some Brainiac creation or the other so odds are that in THIS reality you may have just caught a break.

Just quit smoking and give the new Legion a chance and we MAY see it in our hearts to forgive you...this time. laugh

I'd keep an eye on that Brainiac fellow though, this one seems to be juat as crazy as all the others. If he starts building sexy blonde robots or something we may all be in trouble.

Actually bought the first issues and have been readin up to the latest. Sorry again, but, as much as Mark Waid's scripting still delivers, it still doesn't seem to be flooring me enough to draw me back in.

Eternal rebooting, unfair comparisons to previous artists (Mr. Coipel was the Valor of Legion artists IMHO--- and maybe Jason Pearson, Mon-el?), the attempt to make adolescent issues relevant yet not "real" enough to empathize with, the constant frustration at DC for not letting creators run in the direction they were gaining momentum for, i don't know... I don't know if even half these reasons are valid, but maybe it's just that the magic of previous era takes time to capture, or for original power to gain momentum. Mr. Pursuader, the axe, if you please?

(It's still one of the stuff I notice from my brother's stash that I stop to look, so who knows?)

What's this "Legion" you speak of? Isn't he the mutant son of Professor X and Moira Mactaggert or somethin'? confused
