Did they ever totally explain who tossed Tinya back in time prior to the post-Mordruverse "Glorith did it to get back at Jo" thing?

Probably not important anymore, but by the time we hit Zero Hour, Glorith had been firmly retconned into the storyline, but that explanation smacks of paradox since Tinya disappeared before the new continuity of Glorith (during the five year gap).

And did they ever tell us what became of the Durlan?

Pre-Glorith, it was the Time Trapper (see v4, #4), possibly for similar reasons, although this was never explained.

Post-Zero, there was an answer, when ghost-Tinya met Phase. The Tinyas, we learned, were Carggite on their dad's side, and he sold two of his daughters off to pay gambling bills.

Phase grew up working for the Luck Lords, working at a casino-- I forget how she lost her memory and travelled back in time, tho. They met and re-intergrated during the Team 20 era (between 84 and 100, I forget exactly when).

We never learned the fate of the third Tinya.

The Durlan became RJ Brande, see v4 #8 and Annual #1 (Glorith/Jo).

Post-Zero, who knows?

Pre-Glorith, there was some story about Phase actually being Phantom Girl's cousin or something -- does anyone know the details to that one??

I remember that one. It was about the same time as Zero Hour so I think there was some Glorithy stuff going there as well. They claimed that Phase was Enya Wazzo or some crap like that (which I guess meant the Tinya that appeared at the end of ZH was just hovering out there in limbo all those years).

All in all, very messy.

And didn't it get retconned away after approximately two issues?

Phase: That never happened.

The cousin bit wasn't pre-Glorith, it was Glorith era.

It was her identical cousin, who just happen to be coming to Earth with Tinya. I wonder if she had a British accent, as identical cousins seem wont to do;)

Zero Hour (94) wiped this out a few months later, but the time Team 20 rolled around (96ish), Phase was back to being a Tinya again, although a Carggite Tinya who was never Phantom Girl (or Apparition, until they merged).

Checking my collection, it was LSH 98-100 plus the back-up in 102 (plus dangling threads that preceded these issue).

The casino Phase worked at was under attack, and rather than see her enslaved, her master zapped her with a time-displaced he'd just won, which also accidentally gave her amnesia.
