As a counterpoint to Andy's thread - which pre-existing characters would you say got the best of the reboot?

Kid Quantum. The third Kid Quantum (the one we have now...or had last month anyway) got major screen time in the new series. James had just been retconned as a dead/faked-his-own-death Legionnaire in the old Legion and immediately became a Legionnaire in the reboot only to be the first to buy it in action. Jasmin took the name as a legacy hero and became Legion Leader in just a few years (comic book time). That's quite a bounce in rank and social status for the Cullins clan.

Triad definitely got a lot of screen time in the reboot compared to her Triplicate Girl storyline. I'll always love preboot Luornu, but postboot she just became such a fun, interesting character.
The same for me could be said for Invisible Kid. Another character that didn't get too much of a chance for major personality before leaving the lore, but that's more than been made up for the past ten years.

...and the Composite Superman has a credible origin. It was a stroke of brilliance making him a renegade Durlan...it sure beat the heck out of the janitor-accidentally-spills-something-and-becomes-a-supervillian cliche'.

Dreamer. We got to see her go from complete ditz, to really being tested to the max in the Robotica war, to becoming more fluent and versatile with her power than old Nura was ever written.
The childhood friend Exnihil never had.

I thought Laurel was on her way to being a great, complex character until she got space-nunned into oblivion. Is that a good or a bad thing?
White. A blank page or canvas. His favorite. So... many... possibilities.

There's a lot of characters who fared well during part of the reboot but fared poorly during other parts.
Vi had some really nice portrayal up until the Emerald Vi fiasco, for example.

Lyle ... who not only got to live, but also got to be a spy, disobey Cosmic Boy's order, upstage Brainiac 5, and leave fans wondering about his sexual orientation.

I liked the tweaked backstory for Chameleon, particularly his position as heir to the spiritual leader of Durla. I also enjoyed the early running gag about his imperfect command of Interlac, which was later revealed to have been exaggerated as part of the behind the scenes "sting" to take out President Chu.
If only more creativity had been applied to the use of his powers. He was depicted using his powers to simply stretch much to often.

Umbra, was very different of the preboot era. More strong than ever. Triad was nice too. Lyle and Ferro alive!
From UK with glamour.
