SLSH #19 – Wow! - Spoilers! -

Well I am not sure what the etiquette here is on this one but please do not read on if you don’t want to know much. .. . still not a total recap, just some cool stuff I enjoyed about the issue!

I was at Wizard World Philadelphia this weekend and got to see the B&W “First Look” preview copy of Supergirl & the Legion of Super Heroes # 19!

First of all, any other members make it to Phily and read the issue? And I met a handful of Legion fans over the weekend, and they always seemed to be the nicest people!

<span class="spoiler_containter"><span class="spoiler_wording">Click Here For A Spoiler</span><span class="spoiler_text">Art – Layouts, Pencils, & Inks ALL Barry Kitson!! Yay! Wow is this a gorgeous looking issue. Seeing it is B&W is as close as we can get without seeing the originals, and this issues, well it is such a dark looking issue, that is ever a B&W version was to be published, this would be the perfect one.</span></span>

CONTENT SPOILERS

<span class="spoiler_containter"><span class="spoiler_wording">Click Here For A Spoiler</span><span class="spoiler_text">CONTENT SPOILERS. Chameleon Boy is the main character in the story, as hinted from past issue, with the rest of the Legion appearing in “framing” type pages, and yes Kara was still in those pages.

Introduced as the other main character is a SP Officer from Titan. Also a telepath like Saturn Girl. And boy is she hot!

Chameleon Boy’s Sexual preference - In a great scene the afore mentioned SP Officer gives Cham a kiss to which he pulls away and she realizes. (Excuse my quote here as it may not be 100% accurate) “What, I just realized that I am not your type, because I am . . . . a fixed-state life form!”

Boy I really thought that they were taking Cham out of the closet on this one, and you KNOW that Mark was teasing a lot of Legion fans with that one. Enjoy it when you get to read it in person!

So those are just some thoughts on the issue. LOVED the art, very nice “solo” type of issue, overall grade is an A.

Cool! Thanks for this bit of info. I'd love to hear more like who the new SP is and what actually happens in the issue, if you want to share more.

Focus on Cham? Is this the one that is a detective story? Nightcrawler –I am a bit ashamed to admit that I did not get her name. As far as more plot details, well, this issue is best read as it unfolds instead of a choppy synopsis from me. I was so in awe of the art that I think I spaced on a few of the details, BUT I will say this much, the splattered creature on the cover is NOT Cham, and the way that he “wins” in this issue is so cool. Also a lot of cool friggin robots.

Ultra Jorge – To answer your questions. Yes, Yes, & Yes! If you haven’t been reading lately, this would be a great issue to pick up. It is a really nice self contained story. Cham is the only Legionnaire in the main story. Other than 3 framing type pages and the title/roll call page, it is his story for 18 pages.

I also looked at the issue at the DC booth but I only skimmed it - I wanted to save the full reading of it when the actual issue came out.
but here is one thing I can add.

He has to reveal his identity to overcome Titan girl ( I can't remember her name either) and the SP thank him and boot him out. And the secret of the SP who has infiltrated the Legion is still not revealed</span></span>

Thanks ded! I remember Cham Chief best win Violet pulled his antenae's in that prison break out. (one of my fave issues)

UJ, you sold me on the issue. I love Cham! I was sad to see him as a blank slate/generic alien. I have a feeling I will really dig this issue.
