Im talking about Shadow Lass the drawn version, not the personality traits...
Oh-kaaaay...write in and tell me which drawn version of Shadow Lass did u like the best:
a)Swan/Klein b)Cockrum (my personal favourite!!!) c)Grell d)Sherman e)Giffen/Mahlstedt f)Moy/Carani (Umbra)
On a personal note, i hated it when some artist gave Shady and her cousin Grev that weird mohawk 'do in the 5YL series.
Can think up more 'do questions if anyone wants to know more...

Hey, Brian. If you don't mind, I'm going to move this over to the LSH forum, since it's more about the Legion than about any of the members here.
And, for the record, my look of Shady thus far is Barry Kitson's.

I liked her best with the really short skull cap hair and full black body suit just after that incident on the science asteroid.

I forgot to add the Steve Lightle hairdo where the Giffen skull cup turned Shady into Lt. Saavik from Star Trek 3

You know, now that you mention it the "Mohawk" Shady is probably the only one I didn't like. She's been a favorite of mine since her first appearance.
I might actually like her visually best the way she was depicted during the DnA era. (sounds lilke heresy doesn't it?) The "Elf Quest" top knot looked pretty cool on her and I even liked the trident she carried a couple of times.
Steve Lytle's Shady was absolutely fantastic though. For a longer run on the character I think Steve's work on the character and her look was top notch and I might have loved her the most back then.
Yeah, Barry's Tasmia is quite lovely and she's definitely got the "edginess" I really like in her.

I liked Umbra (Moy's), but Kitson's is looking pretty awesome.
And to show I bear no ill will, I, too, shall bestow a gift...

In terms of personality I liked the last version of Shady (Umbra) who had a chip on her shoulder. But in terms of physical appearance I'm loving Mr. Kitson's version of the character (and his and Mr. Waid's characterization of her is pretty good, too, by the way).
If the meek shall inherit inherit the Earth, then I at least want Baffin Island - and a property manager to work for me who is made of sterner stuff than I.

The more blue skin the better, so I like Grell's depiction of her. However, Greg LaRocque gets honorable mention. He always made her look very dramatic.

My favorite look for Shady/Umbra is Coipel's "pseudo-retro" style. Steve Lightle's redesign of her costume at the end of the DnA era was pretty cool, too.

Giffen/Mahlstedt. I came on when she had that little cap on her head.
But you forgot to mention one guy that may beat everybody. Steven Lightle. I also enjoyed LaRocque's version greatly.

The Lightle/Laroque version was my fave. I'm also digging the leather-clad warrior of Kitson.

Visually, my favorites are Grell and Cockrum.
Personality-wise, its probably the reboot version, but I would hvae never truly warmed up to her reboot self unless they found a way to call her 'Shady' and if she started dating Mon.

UNIFORM-- the fan-designed orange number (kidding!) 1. Moy's Legionnaire stripe with 'cold shoulders' 2. Giffen/Lightle's full-length solid black body-suit 3. The Adventure original 4. Cockrum's 'linked' bikini with the batboots and the preposterous tuning fork on her head. 5. Lightle's late-reboot outfit (except for that silver crotch-piece).
Tasmia's had possibly the best variety of looks of any female Legionnaire... with all of them fairly distinct and different.
HAIR 1. Coipel's 1940's inspired do. 2. Lightle's warrior's knot 3. Lightle again-- the shoulder-length curly/wavy look 4. The current 1960's-inspired European waif look. 5. Adventure era bob 6. Cockrum's helmet hair, with the pointy spikes at neck level.
PERSONALITY 1. The current one seems to encompass all the best of other versions. So far. 2. Umbra (pre-DNA) I'm in the minority here, but I think she was full of potential and quite complex. 3. Umbra (postLOST) When she returned from Talok VIII, she seemed 'whole'. During LOST, she was whacko. 4. Adventure-- a tart tart 5. Late Levitz/5YL-- the outre self-mutilation-as-marriage-rite (to a man in a coma!) was so gothic and over-the-top, it was inspired.
Didn't care for the 'clique girl' thing with Phantom Girl... I like them as friends, even as bitchy ones... but a couple of times they just crossed the line into annoying. Especially in light of the clingy nature of their relationships with Mon-el and Ultra Boy.

Visually, I like Kitson's the most, and Coipel's Legion Lost version comes in second.
Personality-wise, the current Waid version followed by the post-LOST version.

As far as looks go, I prefer the Baxter series Shadow Lass, with pointed ears and slanted eyebrows (Lightle?). Personality-wise, the current version works best for me (humorous, not afraid to speak up, but not strident like the initial Umbra.)

Given that Timber Wolf was a tad clueless, didnt give Shady or Phantom Girl the right to make fun of him or share catty comments.

It may have looked like a tuning fork to you, ML, Grell designed that - Cockrum's was a simple yellow tiara...
In fact, Cockrum made all the Legion Lass's look individual...until Giffen came up with the new costumes in the pre-Reboot Legion (54).
Dawnstar's Red indian warrior look suited her

Iliked Umbra's attitude and enhanced power levels. Hated the name though.
I'm really liking the current costume, but her skin's not blue enough.
Artwise, I thought Coipel's Shady rocked!
