With Grey's ass-uming nothing can be "for real" on the first of April out of the way though, I believe this, but it doesn't make sense (Although that's half the reason I do believe it - comic companies aren't exactly known for logic)
They should start with Legion Lost (if not LotDamned)

Well, Tom Feister believes it's real (see the "Goodbye TnT" thread in Visionaries). That's good enough for me.
The Powers That Be @ DC Comics must be deaf, dumb and blind. This would have been a perfect opportunity to release a LEGION LOST TP. Box it in a set with Foundations, and both books would sell like hotcakes.

I'm just shaking my head on this one <shakes head>.
If they wanted to do things as bass ackwards as possible, why didn't they release the Floundations Hard Cover first? Then when they offer the soft cover Floundations, then can offer that side by side with the special collectors edition of the HC Magic Wars edition.
DC conitinues to amaze me at the way they miss opportunities.

It's definitely not something I would have chosen to collect into a trade, but since I don't make those decisions...

As much as I haver loved DnA's run, this was the weakest storyline they have done. It just baffels me to no end why they would choose to skip over the DnA/Copiel stuff (You know, the stuff people WANT AND HAVE BEEN BEGGING FOR), and give us this. Why? Just because it has Superboys in does not amke it a good story. If someone who doesn't read the book picked this up after hearing all the buzz they would think that we are all crazy. It was a medicore arc at best. DC just does not have a clue.

I don't know, maybe DC has a plan here. I think we can all agree here that the "X" titles are pretty bad. I haven't been able to pick one up since they bungled the Age of Apocalypse arc a few years back.
Anyway, didn't DnA write an Iceman story not too long ago. Maybe DC is trying to "steal" the X-title readers and get them hooked on Legion... figuring that if they keep buying the "X" drivel, they might not be able to keep up with Legion fans if they started them on something that was actually written well.

I thought "Floundations" was the April Fool's joke: "Let's start a bunch of new plot threads, introduce twenty-odd new characters and then leave 'em hanging. It's sure to get us talked about for years."
As for the reasons for collecting it, a sad fact of life is that those who run corporations don't care whether or not it's a good story. They care only if it sells comics, and Superboy still sells, apparently.

Willikers! I thought the purpose of TPBs was the GAIN fans to a series, not drive them away!
BAD move, DC! FOUNDATIONS had some okay parts, but overall it was rancid pig pee.

The worst thing is, is this crap doesn't sell, it may be ages before we get another Legion TPB.
Oh well, I'll probably buy it, just because I never have picked up the last two issues of the arc.

Given the body of work provided by DnA, I think it unfair to create derogatory names for those that didn't work. All the same, Foundations didn't work.
Perhaps the TPB is meant to be a tax deductable loss?
Makes no sense.

I noticed that L*31 doesn't have any page numbers, like the Foundations arc. Is this so it can be included in a TPB and not need to have the pages edited? Or is this a new fad?
JLA 95 didn't have page numbers either!

Oh it's gonna sell 'cause I'm going to buy them all for my friends and loved ones! My first full story arc on one title, my first trade paperback! Look Mom, it is a real job!

Might I say that, although the story let me down in FOUNDATIONS, the artwork & colors were very nice!

What Legion story arcs HAVE been collected into TPBs (NOT including the hardcover Archives)?
- "Great Darkness Saga" - "The Beginning of Tomorrow"
and now "Foundations"
And that's it? Or am I missing one?

Nope There was actually a rumour going around a year or two back that DC weren't allowed to print new post-boot TPBs (apart from the already-out BoT). Since that's clearly nonsense now, we're left to wonder what the sprock they were up to.
