When the Dominator's said, "existence is a loop," and "time is a circle," did anybody else wonder if this was somehow a reference to or foreshadowing for an appearance of the Infinite Man?
If the meek shall inherit inherit the Earth, then I at least want Baffin Island - and a property manager to work for me who is made of sterner stuff than I.

Maybe the Dominators are all just really big Stephen King buffs and the Dark Tower series is their bible. If I see 19 anywhere, I'm gonna have to start some kind of conspiracy theory.
'What the--a robot shark!'
Be warned--I liked post-ZH.

I think it was just mumbo jumbo and I am disregarding it.

I dunno. Maybe.
Three things, though:
1. We know Garth and Ayla have a mystery brother, and it was hinted that Garth was looking for him, but:
2. Lightning Lad was fighting the Electro Lord, close up, and didn't recognize him.
3. And I got the idea from how that whole sequence went that the robots and the Electro Lord and the undercity were pretty old, probably predating whatever happened to give the Ranzzes their powers.
So I don't think it's Mekt. But there still could be *some* kind of connection.

Well, I can tell I am in the minority when it comes to the new direction for this comic. I've already posted a long review of this issue on my website. I'll just hit the basics here.
I am not pleased with the addition of Supergirl on the Legion. I don't see where she adds anything to the team or the other members. I just see her as a character that only makes everyone else seem irrelevant.
Having said that, there are many very positive aspects about issue 17. First, Kitson's art is just fantastic! Seriously, I think this may be the best art I have ever seen on a Legion title. DC must never let Barry leave the Legion!
I also like Waid's writing. I absolutely love the way Light Lass reacted to Supergirl. I've never been a huge Ayla fan, but now I'm positively in love with her!
I am thrilled to see the Dominators! I think that the fiffftee-tu is a reference to the upcoming 52 comic that Waid is co-writing. I also think that there is a good chance that Supergirl is the "technorganic payload." I would be thrilled if that is the case.
As far as the robed character, my initial gut reaction was Mekt or someone from the Legion of Super Villians. However, I guess the Legion of Substitute Heroes is a possiblity. It is just that the robed character seemed to have an awfully sinister tone for a Substitute Hero.

Perhaps the Subs have a sinister tone this time around?
I have to say that the inclusion of Supergirl is the one thing I'm probably least enthusiastic about at the moment. Everything else is really good, however.

Mekt?
Triplicate Girl knew said he was bad news in a letters page. I don't think he'd exactly be the guest of honor out there. Do you think he'd venture out into legion plaza within smacking distance of his already irritated sister?

One of the nice things about how covered up everybody dresses in the 31st century, anybody could walk out there unrecognized!

Last issue, when the big thing headed toward Earth turned out to be a Dominator artifact, I was surprised, because we hadn't seen the Dominators yet. I was all, 'Hey! There are Dominators in this version of the Legion!'
I shouldn't have been. The Dominators were mentioned in the first few pages of the first issue (in a discussion about new recruit Invisible Kid's powers, it is said that 'even the Dominators can't do this'). And it didn't register with me at all.

Er...I understand the above reference in regards to this issue and all , but... I'm going to ask that this be the last post made in such a fashion and that no one else copy it. It's so close to HTML that the board just had a hissy fit trying to render it. I'm surprised it even let you post it.

In regards to the dominators and 52, I'm thinking it's a reference to Mon-El. I'm assuming the last Mon-El (I'm talking put in the buffer zone by clone superboy M'onel) was removed from continuity by the so called infinite crisis continuity waves because his existence is a little problematic. So I'm guessing that Mon-El will be re-introduced in the 20th century during 52. Plus there's some sort of link between the dominators and Mon-El because of the whole seeder of worlds thing. And that's my theory. Enjoy

You may well be right. In fact, I hope you're right, assuming it's all done well.
But we also thought we saw Mon-El coming during the Lemnos storyline (I include myself here). So I suspect that what's going to happen is that, from now until Mon-El actually does show up in this title, every plot development or point of mystery is interpreted by someone here as portending the arrival of Mon-El.
And the fact is that it would be so easy for them to do it. It could work like this:
1. Brainiac 5, during his research, comes up with a Phantom Zone projector. He fires it up, and Mon-El comes out.
2. Mon-El tells his story - twentieth century, Superboy's older brother, lead poisoning, etc.
3. (this step is optional) The Legion has some kind of contact with Superman. Superman says, in reference to Mon-El, "I never called myself Superboy, I never had an older brother, and I've never seen this guy before in my life." To which Mon-El responds (and Saturn Girl can verify that he's telling the truth, if necessary), "Well, that's still what I remember happening to me, so I guess it's just one of those mysteries that'll never be solved."
And that's it. Why couldn't that work?

I for one can get behind this rampant Mon-El speculation.

I think that SunBoy is the SP infiltrator. It would explain why the LSH let him leave without making that big of a fuss. It would be a clever little trick, don't you think? He had been talking about quitting for a while, but that may have been done to throw everyone off that he was planning to go undercover in the SPs. Maybe?
Can we say for certain who the "founders" are if we haven't seen an origin story, yet?
So what.
