good stuff. (1) I usually don't notice this, but the colors seemed to be really vibrant in this issue. good looking issue (2) robot cult underneath the city. as a reader of Conan, I loved seeing the archtype underground death cult resurrecting a dark lord stuff played out in the future. Also, the robot head shown on the roll call page seemed to be a smaller version of the head taken in the 1st issue. (3) What's with Cosmic brat and his rude treatment of Star Boy? Result of exposure to the techorganic or something else? and yeah, I know he was interrupting Cos Brat, but it was a valid question. (4) Supergirl. eeh. There just something about multi-powered characters that leave me cold. (5) Seiss- subsonic waves from indigestion. who says the Silver Age is dead. (6) So that's what a Dominator looks like. those are some ugly @#$*%^$*#(**&! (7) I can hardly wait for the Light Lass/ Supergirl brawl. When someone looks at you the way Light Lass does Supergirl, you had better be prepared for fight or flight.

Hmm... that's interesting. Could Supergirl's presence be the motivating factor for Ayla to pay less attention to giggling about lingerie and show that she really is the mistress of one of the most fundamental forces in the universe?

One thing that kind of annoyed me about the issue-- they're uncertain what steel is but they still eat burritos?
The line about steel was cute and stuff, but it seems to me to be too hard to do the whole "distancing themselves from basic knowledge of our culture" kind of thing in a consistent fashion, and I just find this kind of thing distracting given that fact.

Fun story. Methinks Supergirl has a dreamcrush of Cosmic Boy - thoughts? So I-Kid still doesn't seem seem to have a heroic costume 1 year in the future of the future...Cool to see Barry draw some current day DC heroes too...
I too suffer from sonic indigestion when consuming burritos. Maybe if I get black beans instead of pintos...

Well, steel will eventually be replaced by some new material. But those prepackaged burritos, have you ever found an expiration date on one?
Just spouting off.

A guy who's power is sending out subsonic waves when he gets indigestion? C'mon guys, you're not trying hard enough! ...There's only one future group that would accept someone like that. I think the mysterious stranger has a heart of cold myself.

If Ayla gets to send Supergirl to the moon I hope Star Boy gets to send Cosmic Boy on a journey to the center of the Earth. Cos is just begging for it.
Can't blame Ayla for being suspicious but I sense a bit of girl-vs-girl jealousy, too.
Dream Boy is shaping up to be another "figment" of Kara's imagination.
What finally convinced Brin to join the team? I hope that's addressed next issue.
Other mysterious robed figure possibilities: RJ Brande, Mekt, Night Girl.
The Dominators have never looked better, i.e. worse. The talk about about technorganic payload and humanity being a "virus" bodes some form of biological terrorism. Nanites, maybe? The dot-heads seem unaware of Supergirl, though.
This book grows more beautiful looking by the month and I'm very happy with WaK's depiction of Kara. My only kvetch -- Element Lad's hair and costume are way too orange now. He looks like a talking tangerine. I did like how he shut Shady up, though. Maybe's there's hope for him after all.
And no, I can't believe Brainy would take the ring from Nura's corpse, especially if he's planning to resurrect her. I bet he's got a spare or two he's been holding back from Cos.
Good show, Mark and Barry! Keep up the momentum.

The dialogue this issue was gold. I love the nod to the days when the Legion really was just a cheerleading squad for the Superkids. Is Supergirl herself the payload that was delivered by the Dominion missile? Seems reasonable, especially if they're obsessed with a 21st-century defeat. She doesn't really count as "technorganic," though, unless...Supergirl Robot! Or...SW6 Supergirl! Or something. One thing that kind of annoyed me about the issue-- they're uncertain what steel is but they still eat burritos? Ignorance of steel does sound weird coming from a history buff like Cos--he's never wondered about the nickname before?--unless archaeology and history are completely dead disciplines on Earth. There are whole buildings made of the stuff, after all. But I think it'd make sense coming from one of the other kids. After all, who'd remember steel once superior future materials make it obsolete? Burritos, on the other hand, wouldn't really become outdated thanks to the march of technology, even if they were eventually made out of syntho-tortillas and gengineered-algal carnitas substitute. Anyway, we can always say it was just the Interlac word for "wrapped foodstuff."

I dunno. We all know what bronze is, despite the fact that many of its uses have been supplanted by stronger alloys. I would be surprised if the average person has any idea what they ate in the Middle Ages, however.

Yeah, but we still have decorative bronzework being made today, which gives us a reason to talk about it. (Offhand, I can't think of a building material that doesn't get used decoratively, but then we're a much more openly artistic culture than 30th-century Earth.) And you don't have to know what medieval folks ate to have words for the same sort of food now--"roast meat," "gruel," "rocks, when times get really bad." These guys are theoretically talking Interlac, after all.

(I wonder if anyone will get the reference.)

Okay, just finished reading the issue and I have to say I enjoyed it. More so than the previous issue. Waid's dialog was crisp again and Barry's art just makes me wish for a gallery to display the originals (assuming I could afford to purchase them). The last two issues have gone a long way to bump the Legion back up my list. I just really hope this Supergirl storyline goes somewhere and isn't just a grab for ratings.

Going back to Supergirl possibly being the Dominators' "technorganic payload"...At the beginning of the issue, Electrolord was looking to reduce the carbon-based life forms. When he saw Supergirl, his input read "unfamiliar." Does this mean that Supergirl isn't carbon-based?

I sooo knew Light Lass was going to have issues with Supergirl. So far, I really like Light Lass this time around. Hee hee. I think that's coming off really well. So are the coincidences that play into Kara's dream belief.
Electrolord's unfamiliarity seems to me like a hint that she's the technorganic payload too. But I don't know that I'd like a resolution to that. She'd have to be a clone or something, and I don't see such a creature having a long life in the DCU if Supergirl is still supposed to be wandering around in the present too. But I will leave that to Waid & co to make work. Too bad there isn't just some color of kryptonite that casts a reflection of the superfolks 1000 years into the future, I would find that so much more workable.
The "charter members" decide to offer Kara membership? Maybe this group needs some foreign military intervention to bring about some democracy.
Cos keeps.... tttaaaalllllkkkkkkiiiiinngggg. Maaaakkkkeee iiiiittttt stooooooopppp. Soooooooo paaaaaiiiinnnnfffulll.
Hooray for the Shadow Lass-Element Lad conversation. It was a hoot.
Me wonders if Brainy is any more suspicious of Kara than the rest & did anything to that ring to address his concerns.

Tri-Lithium Sodium Substatute has a half-life of 2.74 seconds, and my baby Atmos says he needs to get up and go in the morning (when the 2nd sun rises) so he gets a full bowl of GraviNuts. Full of Yellow Sun goodness and anti-grav on the courts!
Tri-Lithium Sodium Substitute Yellow Goodness GraviNuts! Ask for it by name!

And I think I enjoyed that single page more than any other in the book. The Dominators have rarely looked more scary.[/b]I just read the issue again and I came up with something else. The only other time the Dominators have been big was durning 'Invasion'. Could 52 be the number of people that they experimented on that went on to be the Blasters? I can't find the issue right now so I can't verify it. But then again, you have on old diskhead saying '52' and the next page is an in-house ad for '52'. Just throwing it out there.

In Invasion they started with 50 human captives, six of which survived to become the Blasters.

Could 52 be the number of people that they experimented on that went on to be the Blasters? That can't be it. Nobody cares about the freaking Blasters. The Dominator who said 'remember the 52' was saying it like a WWII vet might say 'remember Pearl Harbor', or something. No, it's something we don't know about yet.

For once, I actually got to the CBS mere days after the new Legion comes out!
Ayla continues to be my new favorite character, as well as perhaps the most realistic teenager on the team.
My first thought was it was definitely the Subs who recruited MakeYouBarf Boy. I certainly hope so! I'm over Terror Firma, hope we never see them again...
The Dominators are back? Ah, shades of my long-lost, much-loved 5YG Legion. DOMINATORS!!!! Who-hoo!
Supergirl gets Dreamy's ring? Ewww...
The only consistent feature of all of your dissatisfying relationships is you.
Don't judge me!

I know it doesn't make sense but the outfit the guy was wearing who offered Seiss membership was similar to Klar's. All covered up with gloves. You don't think Klar is out to start the Legion of Super-Villains do you?

Oooh... I kind of like the idea, even though it doesn't make much sense. The Legion *was* trying to spur him to action. Maybe the action won't be what they expected?
