This cover is so beautiful, it brings tears to my eyes.

Thanks as always for sharing the pencils and inks. It always adds to the excitement and speculation.

And as I said before, these are the absolute best renditions of these three characters that I have ever seen.

That's a lot of detail - it must have been some marathon drawing it - small size characters in comics often get the short shrift and can be little more than coloured outlines, but each character here looks perfect.

Did you choose those particular three Legionnaires from the past to put front and centre? Curious that they're some of the ones who don't have the Lad/Lass/Boy/Girl names....

Um, that may be one of the best Dawnstar, Blok, and Tyroc ever! Especially Blok. How can they not include Blok after this...it's the best Legionnaire Barry has ever drawn!

Hey one of PP's bodyguards made the cover! Between Tyroc's legs. Two characters on the left under Light Lass look interesting. New characters? Hmmm?

Fat Cramer, aye these characters are also all the ones that debuted in the 70s. Except a certain very popular one...Wildfire. And IMO if you add WF it's something I think this Legion is lacking!

Barry, just gorgeous! This will probably be the best cover of 2006. Unless you can top it with one that features Lightning Lad.

As to who some of the background characters are. Is that possibly Shikari behind/beneath Light Lass? Not sure with the coloring on the colored version.

In particular I like Ligh Lass' expression. The entire team is scowling at the retro legionnaires, except for Light Lass. I don't know what to make of her expression. It's perfect for her character though.

IMO, bringing Dawnstar back is the very best thing to have happen. As Shikari might say, she's a sight to make eyes sore - or something like that.

As i've started to read LSH only with the previous series, i don't know these 3 characters but seeing the reaction of everybody here, i'm feeling excited about it myself!

i know Dawnstar with COIE and i've heard of Blok but i really don't know the third one. I'm discovering all this with each back issues i'm finding.

We can see Invisible kid on the right of the cover, above the right shoulder of Ultra boy. But i think it's the first time we are seeing him with what seems to be his legionnaire's outfit: we can see the band on his forehead and what is a big "I" on his chest under his coat. From what era is this design?

I'm still in shock that white elfen booties can look so good!

And is Light Lass checking out Bloks bum?

Monel and Wildfire above Ultraboy's left arm?

Wait. I thought the team was the retro Legionnaires. Oh my bad. doh!

This is an awesome cover Barry...I hope it means more than some brief alternate-verse appearance though! But I have to tell you, the cover alone allows us "older fans" to have hope that "the Legion" we grew up with is still out there somewhere. Barry, you have really brought life and high expectations back to the 31st century. I have not seen this sort of fan anticipation and excitment for the Legion since the Giffen/Levitz days. You are the Legion...you are our R.J. Brande!!! Please continue the great work of keeping us excited and don't ever leave!!!

MYG, message boards everywhere are screaming with excitement about this cover. And I'm sure sales will go back up. If it's a temporary event it atleast gives DC much to consider for the future.

We're still very early days in our big picture for the Legion, I think a few things in the 'groundwork' are beginning to 'pay off' but rest assured everything that happens is part of the 'grand plan' which we hope will give everyone (well most folks) a good deal of entertainment!

it's really cool seeing those 'missing' LEGIONNAIRES again, and as others have said, i hope they are not just 'back' for a short while ....... and they are back for GOOD !!
