Hi gang! Just checking in real quick with the first look at the cover to issue #26. Looks like maybe we'll be getting around to wrapping up an on-going story. If I'm not back later with the solicit text I'm sure Gary or someone will be kind enough to share. I'm out so enjoy.

Cool cover! Too bad Supergirl is front and center again frown Darn those marketing ploys to draw in readers! wink

Oh, good, the robots are back. Let heaven and freaking nature sing.

Nice to see all the boys and girls on the cover, though. Is that Dream Boy flying over the robot's head? Wonder where he got the flight ring.

Just trying to take a quick roll call from the cover... I count 19 Legionnaires. No Mon-El, and I can't tell who those two right beside the robot's head are. The one doing something glowy must be Rokk, but I can't tell if the other one is Brin or Lyle. Must be Brin; just because we can't see Lyle doesn't mean he isn't there.

And of course it looks really good.

From the top left looks to me like...

Saturn Girl
Dream Boy
Lightning Lad
Phantom Girl
Cos
Element Lad
Cham
Vi
Gim
Karate Kid
Brainy
Supergirl
Jo
Projectra
Star Boy
Light Lass
Triplicate Girl
Shadow Lass

The nineteenth figure depicted (by the robots left shoulder) appears to be a member of the SP to me, so I count 18 Legionnaires on the cover.

So it appears we're missing:

Sun Boy
Timber Wolf
Invisible Kid
& Mon frown

So, who are the key members that have defected to the "Adult Legion? confused Sun Boy has been with Terra Firma for over a year, Mon would just have put in his first appearance in the prior issue, Lyle could hardly be described as a "key Legionnaire" at this point (unless a lot has changed in the interveneing issues) and that only leaves Brin. Did I miss something or someone?

"Hey Jim! Get Mon out of the Zone!! And...when do we get Condo back?"

Is that a Mordru portrait in the background, or just another guy in a winged hat?

I don't know if you can make much of a judgement from the cover. It may be very misleading.

The covers usually never tell the whole story or the truth sometimes.

The guy on the robot's left shoulder looks like Timber Wolf as far as I can make it out to be. The wingheaded guy looks for the world to me like Thor, wtf?
So the Dominators were behind the Robot Rebellion all along?
Does the "Adult Legion" need to "Eat it" as well?

So what.

Hi Guys
I'm very glad as always that you like the look of the cover!
I'll be posting the scans of the pencils and inks to Nightcrawler ASAP smile

I won't try to answer many of the questions as this story arc brings together just about everything we've set in place in the series - so it's a bit involved... but I will reveal the guy on the advertising screen wasn't meant to be of any particular relevance...honest! smile

I'm really looking forward to #23 hitting the stands and being 'back on board'! smile

Cheers

Okay. Let's see what we can put together. It does sound like the Dominators are running the robots. Their 'technorganic payload' could quite easily be weapons, supplies, materiel, troops for the robots. And I speculated elsewhere that the LSV was part of this little enterprise as well. Their leader, Tarik the Mute... any reason why he shouldn't be a Titanian? Mute, after all. And we know that the robots have had a Titanian agent in the past.

The question is, why do all this?

The obvious answer is, same old motivation for the Dominators. If they're worried about humans with superpowers becoming too powerful, the Legion must be their worst nightmare. After all, before they came along, the last thing human society would do is actually *use* any kind of superpower in any interesting (or, to a Dominator, threatening) way.

We still don't know what the 'fifty-two' is, but I think we'll need to get that from another comic book. We still have no hint how Supergirl fits into this, which leads me to think that she won't. Similar for Mon-El.

So much for "dangling plotlines", eh? chuckle

If, in fact, it was the LSV who released Mon-El from the Phantom Zone, Lar might be the centerpiece of this so-called Adult Legion -- their answer to Supergirl. I'm not so sure the LSV are in cahoots with the Dominators and the Robots, though (they are part of filthy humankind, after all). For all we know, they could wind up fighting at the Legion's side. Stranger things have happened.

From the sound of it, the election's gone all kono-shaped by now. Did someone from the Adult Legion win? That might explain the defectors.

Anyway, welcome back, Barry. Swell cover!

I dunno, I was kinda hoping that the 'technorganic payload' was the thing in the blue skirt and belly-shirt.

How much do we know about the LSV though? I remember some time back that someone from the creative team suggested that the LSV (without naming it) might just be the answer we were looking for for less humanoid aliens. So I'm not convinced that the LSV is going to be primarily humanoid... Does anyone else remember this? I'm pretty sure it was in a thread here, so probably from Barry, but I could be wrong.

Well I hope the "Adult Legion" (LSV?) brings some future new members. Mon-El and Wildfire hopefully. And if they are going to be some non-humanoids...how about Quislet!?

Also hope we will see some classic villains. And gosh darn it I hope they are not blue or yellow! wink

Cover looks interesting, and Hallelujah for the wrap up of some plot lines. From something said in one of the previous solicit texts, I think Mon will be part of the "adult Legion", at least to start with.
