From World's Finest #164!

Brainiac creates a robotic "daughter", Genia, who looks like an Earthling but with vision powers!

Eventually Brainiac disowns her after she proves defective for having emotions and making a mistake that allows Superman and Batman to deduce her robotic nature.

She ends the story imprisoned in the Bottle City of Kandor, which, as we all know eventually ends up enlarged on the planet Rokyn.

Unfortunately, I don't think we're ever given any updates on what happens to Genia. Is she still around in the Legion's time? Does Brainy invite her over for a really awkward Klordney dinner?

I remember this one! It's a pity we never see Genia again, we could have seen a creation of Brainiac being used for good by Kandor.
Even though the story is... well... it's exactly the kind of dumb you expect from a Leo Dorfman story in 1967.
I suspect the people of Kandor had absolutely no intention of ever reviving a robot created by the one who shrank their city and are just being polite to Superman, so by the 30th century she's long been disassembled.

Shameless plug if anyone is interested in the details of the story:

That was helpful as, I have to admit, I only kind of skimmed the story after seeing it advertised in another issue I was reading today!

One thing that confused me is it seems like "Orienta" should be an Asian country (the name of the country, the buildings we see, and even the name "Madame Tru" suggest it), but neither Madame Tru or Genia look Asian.

Madame Tru's outfit seems a teeny bit Asian, but yeah...

BTW, "genia" (pronounced HEN-yah) is Spanish for "female genius." "Male genius" is "genio."

Good fiend, EDE. Genia could have been Brainy's nanny.

This could be where he got the idea to build the Supergirl robot.

Thanks for the link to the story, CA. I love those panels which show the different rooms in headquarters. Brainiac even has a room just for his "space metal stockpile".

Isn't that where we all keep our space metals?
Where else would you put them, together the non-space metals? That would just be silly. :-)

I think my favourite line in the story was a caption after Batman thinks what a great benefactor the fake Madam Tru is (or should I say Madam Fake).

Quote
Batman, this "benefactor" will make Catwoman and Poison Ivy look like the Gotham ladies' Sewing Circle!

I can practically hear the narrator of the Batman TV show saying it.

Possibly made funnier by the fact that "sewing circle" was old Hollywood slang for lesbian club!
