The following rules were established by Kent Shakespeare at the start of the first 24-hour version, adapted from the original rules by EDE:

The rules:

1. The Basic Idea: Post to this thread, if no one posts after you for 24 hours, you win!

2. Posts that are not direct responses to one of the five preceding posts are ineligible to win. The topic can drift, but no complete non-sequitors. Posts that are responses to non-sequitors are also ineligible to win. Posts that are responses to responses to non-sequitors, and response nses to those posts, etc., become eligible, however.

3. In the event that this thread is locked, there shall be no winner unless a new thread is started for the contest. Furthermore, any post that results in the banning of the poster shall also be ineligible to win.

4. So, more precisely, one wins if one makes a post, and then no one makes another post that's eligible to win for 24 hours.

Are our favourite periods in comics when we first discover them?

I'd say that holds true for superhero comics, more than with other genres in comics.

My favorite periods in comics are at the end of sentences in Editorial Notes.

That's a comma misperception.

Crisis of Split Infinitives!

Couldn't be any worse than Infinite Crisis.

Another dreadful Superboy Prime story, not that there are any decent ones.

I liked his first appearance.

This makes me want to boldly go.

and he was good in the original Crisis!

The end of Crisis more than his sudden appearance/disappearance and crossover, for me. He was shoehorned I to it at Schwartz's request, I think.

Some authors/editors do like reusing the same character over and over and over. Prime was bouncing around a lot in that time, I recall.

I also remember Titans/Legion: Universe Ablaze. Jurgens had Starfire on Earth... then suddenly she also shows up on Titan, with a throwaway "oh, good thing Omen teleported me here to help out!"

John Byrne made an in-comic appearance, to apologise for Tigra appearing in a big crossover, while she's been kept in a jar in his own WCA title. He just forgot. But Tigra's subplot was not resolved during Byrne's run.

Poor Tigra. The inhabitants of the bottle city of Kandor can relate.

Sadly, Byrne was writing the DC/Marvel crossover that year. Tigra Vs Kandor ended up being pulled from shelves due to parental outcry at the violence.

The first page alone wiped out half of Kandor!

Byrne had the WCA's picking out dead Kandorians from behind furniture, and from the compound's garden for months after that crossover.

We even found some in the Mobius Chair. great excuse to draw the New Gods in.

It behooves us to have more sports playing space goats in comics.

Young Justice had an issue paying homage to DC's Silver Age scifi feature Strange Sports Stories.
