For what it's worth, at least DC "tried" to address Waller's more extreme characterization by revealing that she's originally from Earth 3.

Are you thinking about the Future State Suicide Squad miniseries? Because that had Waller AND her Earth-3 counterpart. Or how they were saying recently that Waller was STUCK on Earth-3 when the Light brought her back to her home universe?
