i started a petition to support the return of the pre-threeboot legion. here's the link: http://www.petitiononline.com/lsh06/petition.html i put this petition's statement toghether by recycling a few post i once wrote on the comicbloc board, so some of you could already know my reasons. i know that this petition won't probably be of any help, but trying doesn't hurt, does it? i even made a banner, if anyone wanted to support the petition by putting it on his site or so. please take a look at my petition and, if possible, sign it

Unfortunately what you think is the "true" Legion isn't for many of us. I still wish the original reboot hadn't been done but, for now, I'm just glad that there is still a Legion book I can enjoy and that sells well enough to hang around for awhile.
The DNA Legion never was, nor will be, the true Legion for me. But I wish you the best of luck in your endeavors.

As far as I'm concerned, they're all the Legion*. I liked the version you're petitioning to bring back, and I didn't want them pushed aside in favour of the current group... but I like the current group too, and I don't want them pushed aside in favour of a previous version.
*except possibly the Legion On The Run, which was just sad

I'll be the skeptic and point out a few items.
~ Nobody in a position of power, on any private or public issue, reads or heeds online petitions. In every case I've run across, in several fandoms and otherwise, even if those in creative positions know about such petitions, they're routinely disregarded. Mainly because any and all people can "sign" them ... or, too often, spam them.
~ Even if preparing a petition is personally satisfying, apart from any result (or not), it ought to be gauged to the intended audience in how it's written. That audience is DC Comics, and those who run it speak English. With all due respect to Fabio's enthusiasm, English is clearly not his first language, and the petition shows and suffers from this, in phrasing, grammar, and spelling.
~ Even if it's done for satisfaction, and didn't have these lapses of form and style, it's not the best form to use "we demand" in such a document. It's a petition, not a subpoena.
I can't say, moreover, that I would wish Fabio "the best of luck" about this, because even if the above were not true, I wouldn't want his petition to succeed. I did not really care for DnA's work, or for the first reboot, nor could I endure TMK, and I would have preferred to have stories continue to be told after the Magic Wars, which was the end of the original Legion story line.
Yet there's no need to cut matters down to one preference. All of the older storylines are still available, to be re-purchased via the Web. They can be read, savored, fan-fictionalized, and illustrated, these last being shown in abundance at this site.
And the current version, if Fabio and enough others dislike it, can be squelched by the readers readily enough, by our simply not buying it.
So I just don't see the point of yet another petition.

They are all the TRUE Legion to me (with the '80s Legion being slightly more true than all the rest) Just glad they are still around almost 50 yeras later (Yera... I crack myself up sometimes) Psst, Gary, is there a Yera graemlin?

If DC ever decides to turn the clock backwards on the Legion, it will be an era in which the team was actually a successful and popular title, which the DnA version wasn't.

Let me see.... The true Legion Of Super-heroes? For me all are The legion. Maybe for me, the original spirit dies in the Magic Wars. Later with The legionnaires , we have a real fresh air in the team. Zero Hour was a big mistake. The reboot have a good beginning, but the silly ideas in the run broken all my illusions (named Sneckie, Jarth, Monstress, Zombie Kinetix, Andromeda Supernun of space, Lori Morning) Now the favorites characters are back , it's not the ideal future, but works for me. Remember in all the incarnations, something is wrong for one of us. In the original : Lyle, Val, Kara died. In the reboot : Gim, Jam died. Now: Nura died, and don't have Chuck, Tenzil, Andrew, Dawnstar, Drake, Mysa for now... Long Live To The Legion!
