He was Marvel's own Curt Swan.
He was also one of the comics industry's true gentlemen. I was fortunate enough to meet him three times at conventions in the 90s.

Thanks, Raz. He was a treasure as both an artist and a person.
Fun bit of trivia: DC, for whom he'd been working for almost a decade on their romance comics, tried to get him to stay by offering him a monthly gig as Ramona Fradon's replacement on Metamorpho. That would certainly have been interesting!

I agree, Kappa, but I also think that as one Era ends, another flourishes. Superhero comics may be in decline, but lots of other genres are healthier than they've ever been.
