I bought the DVD of the 2-season show from a couple decades ago and just finished Season 1.

I don't think I'd ever seen all the episodes in order, or if I had I barely remembered them. But watching the first season of shows has been a joy, especially after completing the re-reads of classic and the reboot along with getting 13 issues in on the Threeboot. Its like they plucked the best bits of Legion history and characters across three iterations and sprinkled them into this show.

It was stumbling onto the cartoon just a short time after its cancellation which brought me back to the fandom. Well, kind of.


I should really have tried to find my own copies before I dumped both ebay and Amazon.

For what its worth its only $20. It'd be better if it was on a streaming service again, but I can at least play these on one of my players that has a blu ray

The toon was amazing, I was so pleased to share with my younger cousins.

Amazing, yet tragic in its demise.

If I recall, it was canceled not because of its ratings, but because the entire Jetix network of shows couldn't reach a contractual agreement, or some such thing like that.
Someone (I think one of the creators) said the 3rd season would have had Wildfire.

It briefly turned my kids into Legion fans, but when it was canceled, they "reverted" to Teen Titans. I still have all the McDonald's happy meal toys (my body forgave me).

Ah well, such is Legion fandom. We always get table scraps, never QUITE the banquet.

Alas. Would have loved more - so many characters and stories that could have been brought in. Ah well…

The Blu Ray has a commentary track for the last two-part episode and IIRC the reason was that indeed the Kids WB concept (the network at the time) was ending. Its a shame that it never got re-picked up.
