Price Anthologies for DC ComicsI saw that DC is moving closer to an anthology model from publishing from a 20 pages for $3.99 to 60 page for a $7.99 price. This is to help increase distribution into the newstands and book stores as the $3.99 price point is too low for them to make a profit. I would be open to a 60 page book if they had at least 2 new stories of 30 pages each. Maybe have one from Bendis and the other from another writer and artist. Just don't want to pay $7.99 for a 20 page new story and 40 pages of old reruns from the past.

Would I?
Only if it featured the Steve Lightle/Greg LaRocque lineup.
Yeah, I'm old and bitter.

Honestly, an anthology featuring at least 3 stories starring different incarnations of the Legion would be ideal for me.

Honestly, an anthology featuring at least 3 stories starring different incarnations of the Legion would be ideal for me. But what if all three were incarnations you dislike? For you, I'm guessing it would be Retroboot, DnA, and 70s Levitz. For me, it would be Giffen/Levitz, Giffen/Bierbaums, and Threeboot. On a positive note, I WOULD buy it if it were Lightle/LaRocque, DnA, and Hamilton/Siegel.

Yes I would.
On balance, the book isn't worth the ?3.15 I'm paying for it now. But by supporting it, it might improve.I'd rather have the book out there, that could get better, than not have one at all.
Further, I'd be happy to see any distribution model that gets comics to a wider audience.
One downside with having a singular vision for the book, would be that the back up stories would dilute that.
EDEs Anthology For All Legions sounds like great fun.
But I'd be open to anything that had a decent story in it.

It sure as #@$#%$ didn't happen with this iteration! 12 issues of nothing, it's like Seinfeld with superheroes -- but only if every episode had sucked as bad as the series finale. And, for all that could be said against the Retroboot, I do think it was *finally* starting to get decent with the Glorith/Harmonia time-stuff and Francis Portela's lovely artwork, when DC lost patience and let Giffen run amok...again! It only took 1.80 issues for the damage to be done.

For me, it'd be New 52, Bendis, and whatever the Hell was going on in JL3001 I'd buy it if it had any of the other past Legions, particularly Retroboot and/or Cartoon (For the record, I do not consider New 52 and Retroboot the same. New 52 happened on Earth-2, so they can all rot together with those God awful JSA knockoffs)

That's a mighty big "might." Well, I'm an optimist... actually, I'm nothing of the sort... you're right. It's a big "might" It sure as #@$#%$ didn't happen with this iteration! 12 issues of nothing, it's like Seinfeld with superheroes -- but only if every episode had sucked as bad as the series finale. Now, you know you've got that awesome Gold Lantern origin story still to come. Some day. It got two plot jumps on the last two issues! And, for all that could be said against the Retroboot, I do think it was *finally* starting to get decent with the Glorith/Harmonia time-stuff and Francis Portela's lovely artwork, ? I was like it. There were the usual imbecilic editorial things going on, and some plot about turns, but it reads decently in the TPB. ...when DC lost patience and let Giffen run amok...again! It only took 1.80 issues for the damage to be done. I had been wavering on it, but Giffen kept me there to the end. It was all setting up for 5YG 2.0... Fickles! Fickles...put down that Sun Eater... put it ... ... [in other news Legion Worlder thoth Lad is still missing, following the accident at the Controller factory this morning...]

Honestly, an anthology featuring at least 3 stories starring different incarnations of the Legion would be ideal for me. But what if all three were incarnations you dislike? Well, ideally it would alternate between different versions, so the probability that at any one time it would feature three versions of the Legion that I absolutely hate would seem to be rather low. Incidentally, I'd totally be up to reading a continuation of the reboot from where DnA and then Simone left off, and I've actually been thinking about starting a thread about a continuation of the retroboot from the end of V7, because I have ideas! Even if I find particular writer's runs disappointing, I'm not sure there's any Legion continuity that I would absolutely write off as unsalvageable.

All new stories, based on different versions, I'd certainly buy it. Reprints, no. One version only, probably, unless it was a real stinker. I agree with EDE than no continuity is unsalvageable. They can always pick up the story at a point before it turned sour (which probably varies for each individual, but like what Levitz did ignoring The Magic Wars).

Fair enough. That sounds wonderful! I'm looking forward to it! Thanks, EDE.

I would be open to an increased price for great content. Key is "great" content. We have hard and softbound trades with back issues and not sure if that would be a motivator. Plus everyone is hard line "their" era for their version of the LoSH. You pick the wrong one and we are back to cancellations. If they did a new story then a new version of Secret Origins that might work. Or have a single issue run featuring a character single shot. Or maybe even a wrap up of a particular era loose end that fans want answers to.

Yes of course... I paid this and more... for new stories of the original Legion, Reboot Legion, 3boot Legion, Retroboot Legion, Superboy's Legion, but never , never for the horrible Bendis Legion.
