Solomon Grundy.
I know, It's not legion or Hawkman or GL. But, I got ideas. Mixing horror, super heroics and redneck craziness. Imagine Florida Man on Speed with a dash of Absynthe and a liberal dose of government produced meth. Grundy would be a cross of Southern Gothic Horror and The Toxic Avenger with a federal badge.

Well...maybe something like an "Outsiders Forever" series that changes the continuity from right about the point where Jim Aparo left the book, around Baxter Outsiders issue #20. Possibly even a little earlier than that. The first few years of Outsiders (with and without Batman) really have a special place in my heart.
Still "Fickles" to my friends.

Legion of Superheroes of course, whether or not it was an existing team or creating a brand new one would determine what kind of story I write.
I have an idea for the Outsiders focusing on a team of non-powered heroes.
One of my favorites would be a Luthor/Brainiac team-up that doesn't go quite the way you'd expect. Luthor distracts the Superman/Batman team enough while having convinced Brainiac to shrink Gotham and steal it away from Earth, resulting in Batman going on a sort of quest through space to find it. Meanwhile Nightwing and the others are trapped there and forced to team up with some villains to not only bring order to the city but bring it to a point that it doesn't fall apart from isolation, such as Poison Ivy creating sustainable food sources, etc.
A Green Arrow series bringing back Connor Hawk, such an underrated character.
Anything where I can bring back Anarky the way he should be.
Anything utilizing DC's One Million characters.
Bringing back Vril Dox and the L.E.G.I.O.N. in a big way. With the end of Johns' era Green Lantern, DC's space stories have been missing a cohesive direction with a grand scale.
Just a handful of ideas.

I'd like a 21st-Century 'Mazing Man, please. I want to see the old gang dealing humorously (and as best they can) with gentrification, social distancing, flat-earthers, social media, and the ever-escalating trend towards "grim-dark"-ing things which were once airy and fun. Plus, someone competent to promote it this time. (Also, I'm going at the idea that DC needed the terrible, awful, no-good, very bad Angel Love in it's new retrospective as the token "something different" but not MM. I'm going to have every last copy of A.L. rounded up and burned to a crisp, and then the ashes will be dumped at sea while "Stars And Stripes Forever" is played by a live orchestra on a big raft, like in the finale of The Marx Bros.' At The Circus.)

Superboy. The real, old school Superman-when-he-was-a-boy version that was one of DC's most successful properties back in the day. But with the condition that it wouldn't be tied to current DC continuity, so I could do it the way I wanted.
Re-reading the Tommy Tomorrow thread made me remember how much I liked my "Tommy Tomorrow as Star Trek on the DCU" idea, so that would be cool.

Wow, Cleome, you seem to dislike Angel Love as much as I dislike...um...let's say...Booster Gold. I've never read A.L. myself. What do you think was so bad about it?
EDE, would your OOC Superboy have its own iteration of the Legion?

I detested the flat, bland, vapid-looking art, for starters.
It had a very derivative, condescending feel, as those comics which were supposed to be "just for girls" often did back in those days.
Its attempt to modernize (with subjects like drug abuse) was so ham-fisted that even future Lifetime scriptwriters were probably taking notes.
Even the bit with the talking cockroaches was done better by Howard Cruse (R.I.P.) back in the 1970s, when he drew the underground comic Barefootz.

And now I'm tempted to call my brother the ebay-seller hotshot, on the off-chance that his storage unit still has my old 'Mazing Man comics in it. (Just what you want to do to a busy family man on his last day off from work, right? ) Oh, and maybe Night Force , too. Maybe Vertigo has rendered those obsolete, and it'd be damn hard to find another artist the caliber of Gene Colan. BUT I would do my best with my Night Force revival. Definitely a limited series, though. I might even continue to let it be set in the era when it first appeared, just to poke a stick at those who romanticize the 1980s and forget how much terrible stuff was happening then, too.

I remember the house ad for Angel Love. Something with little panels like boys, romance and ... cocaine? I never read it, but realised that when I saw this omnibus. I was wondering what it was like.
The last reference to Night Force I saw was when Alan Moore decided that it would be fun to have Constantine know Winter's secret and exploit it. We don't find out how Constantine, knows. He just does. Because. Undercutting the character. Another example of this is everyone pointing out Captian Marvel's child like eyes. Robinson was prone to that.
Firestorm and the Terrifics practically write themselves.

Any DC project I took on would remain on its own island. No tie-ins, no crossovers, and no blasted "events." I would, after all, be a huge mover and shaker a la' George Lucas. So everyone would have to bend to my every whim, no matter how ill-considered it was.
