Hi Guys Here are the scans for our latest cover beginning with the thumbnail - including handy notes   Next up is the felt marker layout stage. You'll notice Vi isn't included in these early versions - I added her when I found I just couldn't achieve a pose for Ultr Boy that didn't look awkward when trying to get his arm appearing behind Karate Kid's shoulder. Inserting Vi's head there kept the same design balance and - I think- gave the cover a stronger group feel.  ...and so on to the pencil version  and finally the inked version that is sent off to Nathan for coloring.  click on these small images for larger versions. Whoa, wait a cotton picking minute. "Shadowy LSV" ????????? This is interesting. Let the speculation begin.  Another wonderful cover Barry. I love these multi panel looks. KK (never a favourite of mine) looks really impressive, battered and bloody but still standing indomitable and ready to defend his team mates. I see what you mean about the balance and think the introduction of Violet finishes the picture off. But why pick her as opposed to say Light Lass or Phantom Girl, both of whom seem to like a fight as much as Ultra Boy. Once again I find my self torn between which version I like best, the pencils or the inks?

Oh and by the way is that a Starhavenite in the Legion battle scene? And is he on our side or is he attacking the legion?

Again, I want a b&w ashcan version of each issue Barry has done. The pencils and inks are just gorgeous and stand very well on their own with no color.

That cover looks incredible. To me it looks to easily be the best in this series so far.

Whew! I am reeling -- LSV, new HQ (based on Dr. Polaris's headgear?), windged character, Legion "in a bottle." That's a pretty tantalizing cover. Gorgeous, too!
...but you don't have a moment where you're sitting there staring at a table full of twenty-five characters with little name signs that say, "Hi, my superpower is confusing you!"

love this cover. I like Ultra Boy better in the 2nd version above. A bit more menacing. Great cover and nice clues! shadowy who? in a bottle?

And that battle scene looks like, and may actually be, the battle scene that we saw some time ago (in one of the early issues) about a past battle of the Legion. As I recall it also showed someone that looked like Mysa. If it's not a reproduction of that it's very similar. I also think we've seen those skulls before, (possibly on the cover where Jo is fighting that alien lizard-like creature.) We've certainly seen that view of Metropolis and of Legion HQ before. Perhaps all those background panels are pulled, or at least mirror, images we've been exposed to in the past and now everything begins to come together. Or maybe it's just the lunch I had

Sorry guys, my penmanship when making notes is not all it should be The scenes are all newly drawn, but yes, they do refer to events past,present and future  Glad you like the cover!
