Obviously, this is far from the most pressing covid-related consequence, but as this IS a comic-book based forum...

I waited probably a week too long, and sure enough, my comic book store was closed due to covid-19 before I could get LSH #5...

while I have gotten it on Comixology , I still would like a physical copy of that and other comics that are normally on my "pull list"...

Since my store is closed, I can't call to ask questions, so I wonder if any of you have a good enough relationship with your local comic-store owner to know:

Are closed comic stores still collecting issues, so that I can just wait for them to re-open and get everything I missed? OR, should I start trying to get the issues I am missing now (via online and other means?)

I am sure comic stores will be hurting financially due to the closures, and so I would hate to take business away from my local store un-necessarily...
so I am definitely willing to wait, but I also don't want to spend valuable hours trying to chase down issues I missed because I waited too long.

I know in theory each store may vary, but wondering if anyone has a concrete answer for their own store, maybe most stores are following suit?

Thanks(!)

I don't really know, but I would assume if it came out before your shop closed down, it's probably still sitting there in your pull-list, and if your shop was shut down before it came out, then whatever copies they ordered were probably still delivered and are sitting in boxes, and they'll sort it out once they re-open.

That would be my guess, at least, but, again, I have no idea.

It may depend on the store. My store is shipping out by mail or delivering and selling old comics and trades. Does your store have a twitter or facebook account that might be doing updates?

Diamond, the main distributor, stopped shipping stuff to comic shops weeks ago, at the start of April, and don't expect to start again until "mid-May".

Most companies are waiting for them, but DC have started using Midtown and DCBS to distribute a limited selection of comics to other shops as of last week. That's only in the US, and only in shops which are (a) open in some form and (b) willing to get accounts with those two [which is not all of them].

My store is definitely holding pull list items for customers who request that option. They'll also ship if the customer requests that (I'm willing to wait, personally).

Thanks, everyone!

sounds pretty uncertain, but given Reboots comment that diamond stopped shipping, I am guessing everything will ship and be bunched up when they re-open.

Shouldn't be too bad if just a few months, I guess I will wait and give them the benefit of the doubt!

And no, I don't think my shop is on Twitter, and there web page is surprisingly not updated... thought I shoudl maybe poke around more...

They're still not going to be going full-steam ahead when Diamond do resume. Here's Marvel's current plans for May/June: https://icv2.com/articles/news/view/45685/marvel-resume-releasing-comics-may-27
