We've all enjoyed speculating about the Legionnaire redesigns, but I wonder what craziness will befall the Legion villains in this 'boot.
Tiny Validus? Mano is just a hand, like Thing from the Addams Family? The Emerald Empress is a green, elflike creature? Skinny Persuader? Black Tharok?
Egads! The possibilities are endless!

The only villain related image I saw from Bendis is a retweet of a Universo drawing. Now, social media being what it is, it could mean something or it could mean nothing. Though it would be symbolic to have a Gold Lantern (internal will-power?caution?) to fight Universo ( external mind control).

Quintus Exitiale Fatal Finn, the Fatal Five Fusion A Validus clone, his left side has been replaced with a giant robot with a superintelligent computer brain. His right hand has been imbued with Mano’s disintegration power. He carries an Atomic Axe in his left hand, and commands an android replica of the Emerald Eye of Ekron.

Starfinger was picking his nose, now he's Starbooger.
If he'd just gone a little deeper, he coulda been Starbrain, but no...

And he only speaks in Spanish. Mordru is an animated winged hat. If we have a Dr. Fate and a Gold Lantern, we also have... a Per Degaton XXXI and a gigantic Dex-Starr!

Princess Evilla! What will her Devil's Dozen do? And how will this affect her brother - the notorious Prince Evillo?
Ol-Vir takes his name from the Dickens character as he fights violently against worlds that use child labor or otherwise exploit youth. This also gives space for the long-wished for musical issue of the Legion.

Princess Evilla! What will her Devil's Dozen do? And how will this affect her brother - the notorious Prince Evillo? Ooh, I'd be all for a Princess Evilla showing her idiot brother how it's done! Ol-Vir takes his name from the Dickens character as he fights violently against worlds that use child labor or otherwise exploit youth. This also gives space for the long-wished for musical issue of the Legion. Cousin Ol-Vir is just one of the super-powered waifs taken in and exploited towards a life of crime by Space Fagin! But really, the true mastermind villain of the Bendisboot is going to be Proty, still sore about that whole 'pet' thing, and the fight for recognition as a sentient (and Imra not returning his affections, but that's another thing entirely).

In the Retroboot there is a villain called Res-Vir who believes the UP are imprisoning the Daxamites on their planet. I think someone needs to check the birthing matrixes for the Vir clan, there seems to be a mutation towards villainy.

Little-known Reboot villain Murdermaton comes back as... Murdermatron! She tuts the heroes into submission by wagging her finger and brandishing a rolling pin!

I think someone needs to check the birthing matrixes for the Vir clan, there seems to be a mutation towards villainy. Ol-Vir and Res-Vir annoy me because they had Kryptonian naming conventions like 'Kal-El' or 'Jax-Ur,' instead of proper Daxamite names like Lar Gand. I recognize that the 'cousin Oliver' joke around Ol-Vir writes itself, but I still feel like, at the time he was created, *someone* dropped the ball and forgot that Lar's Daxamite birth-name wasn't 'Mon-El.' And yeah, different areas of Daxam could indeed have different naming conventions, but, really, it's not like Winathians or Carggites or Bgtzlns 'randomly' have Kryptonian names... (Then again, there's also the theory that Daxam is a 'lost colony' of Krypton, in which case, some Daxamites using old-fashioned naming conventions similar to what's still used on Krypton could be one explanation for this, but it still feels like a simple writer's mistake to me.)

The TV show writers seem to have compromised the naming conventions by making Lar Gand the father's name and Mon-el the hero's name, but it does not explain anything. I wonder how Bendis will approach the character and culture? I don't like how Daxamites weakness is inconsistency portrayed in the comics. On one hand, it is portrayed as deadly and incurable for 21st century technology. On the other hand, we have panels of Ol-Vir running around until Element Lad turns his costume into lead.

I don't like how Daxamites weakness is inconsistency portrayed in the comics. On one hand, it is portrayed as deadly and incurable for 21st century technology. On the other hand, we have panels of Ol-Vir running around until Element Lad turns his costume into lead. That scene mildly bugged me, if only because lead poisoning was supposed to be incurably fatal to Daxamites, and Mon-El was only alive because *1000 years later* someone developed a serum which he had to take regularly to live (and was slowly developing a tolerance too). That being the case, Element Lad just handed Ol-Vir (and every other Daxamite he later affected when he transformed the atmosphere of Earth to .X% lead) an irreversible death sentence. Even assuming enough of Mon-El's serum could be synthesized to keep them alive, they still are relegated to a lifetime of taking a special medicine periodically to survive... I'm not sure I'd disagree with the decision itself, and consider it kind of a horrible but necessary thing, but I do feel like it should have been portrayed as a big freaking deal, and been mentioned as having had consequences afterwards (such as Element Lad being thought of as having done what had to be done in a time of war, perhaps even some afflicted Daxamites feeling grateful for him having stopped them from inflicting more harm and loss of life than they had already as Darkseid's slaves, while others resent him and think of him as a war criminal, forcing so many of them to take regular doses of the serum *so as not to die an agonizing death* for the rest of their lives, a serum that, oh-so-coincidentally, is provided by the same Legion who poisoned them in the first place...). Instead, it's all been kind of swept under the carpet, as if the writers somehow (again!) forgot that Daxamites are *NOT* Kryptonians, and their lead weakness is *NOT* the same as Kryptonians weakness to Kryptonite (which is generally painful and crippling and potentially fatal, but wears off quickly after exposure ends and doesn't have the same long-term health consequences or require 1000 years in the Phantom Zone or a special serum regularly for the rest of your life to survive).

That's a really good point that I had never considered. Your ideas on the repercussions are excellent. It would have been really interesting to explore those further. (I had enough trouble with the mix-up of what actually happened to Daxam the planet. In the Great Darkness saga itself it specifically said that Mysa (even with help) was not powerful enough to switch the planet locations as Darkseid had but only the Daxamites themselves. Yet in the following issues Daxam was apparently back in its normal location.)

Wasn't there some sort of suggestion that Ol-Vir's mind was affected by his lead poisoning, and that's why he continued on in villainy/Darkseid worship after the Daxamite's were freed from Darkseid's control?
Not that that helps with consistency, though.

That would make sense. OTOH, I could see someone growing up on such an insular (boring) world like Daxam, now having tasted a brief glorious time of having all the powers of Superman, wanting to recapture that sense of power. Or maybe he just ate too many paint chips as a child.

That was Reboot Andromeda's motivation for staying on Earth / with the Legion despite her xenophobia. "Ew, I hate being around these icky aliens... but at least I have my powers!"

Hmmm interesting idea... This would allow us to see more Legionnaires "brought forward"!
Infectious Lass would be a good fit, and positively frightening as a villain.
Gates and Veilmist together would be fun. Lots of comedy gold from them both being teleporters.
