The following rules were established by Kent at the start of the first 24-hour version, adapted from the original rules by EDE:

The rules:

1. The Basic Idea: Post to this thread, if no one posts after you for 24 hours, you win!

2. Posts that are not direct responses to one of the five preceding posts are ineligible to win. The topic can drift, but no complete non-sequitors. Posts that are responses to non-sequitors are also ineligible to win. Posts that are responses to responses to non-sequitors, and response nses to those posts, etc., become eligible, however.

3. In the event that this thread is locked, there shall be no winner unless a new thread is started for the contest. Furthermore, any post that results in the banning of the poster shall also be ineligible to win.

4. So, more precisely, one wins if one makes a post, and then no one makes another post that's eligible to win for 24 hours.

Are you asking as part of the official investigation into the assault? I'm a little uneasy about you investigating an incident involving one of your relatives.

Maybe I hate my mother and want her to go down for this egregious assault.

Have you considered family counselling as an alternative to vindictively pursuing a conviction?

Many of my friends come to me with their parental troubles. Often I just listen, it's such a tricky topic to give advice on.

I tell mom that it is for her own good and that it hurts me more than it hurts her.

(and in case anybody doesn't know. I am just kidding. My mom was a great mother.)

There are times when we're serious?

Some people are humour deficient. Like my meteorologist friend. "Must you be so cirrus all the time?" I asked him.

My dad really hated one local meteorologist. But for all of them he would say "They don't know!"

They can be frustrating, as they often have their head in the clouds.

These puns are giving me the vapors.

Yet you persevere in posting to it. Others will look back on this thread as one they mist completely.

Was there a character in the Defenders called Cloud?

Cloud was a sentient nebula who assumed human form. Cloud first took the form of a female and later that of a male

At first I thought we were talking about the Cloud from Final Fantasy VII.

There have been weirder backstories in the Final Fantasy games...

I seem to remember her as being close to Angel, but that might have been Candy.
