Action Comics #267
Obviously, there are many errors in Action Comics #267, when Supergirl meets the Legion for the first time.
Saturn Girl tells Kara, “We are the children of the three young heroes who befriended Superboy.”
In later stories, this comment was ignored; Supergirl joined the same Legion of Super-Heroes that Superboy did.
But wait…
Supergirl never joined this version of the Legion of Super-Heroes. Exposed to Red Kryptonite, she aged into a “Superwoman”, and returns to the 20th century…
What if…
These actually were the children of the original Legion?
Lightning Lad and Saturn Girl might be Graym and Dorritt Ranzz. (or Dacey)
Cosmic Boy might be Pol Krinn II, the son of Rokk and Lydda Krinn.
We also meet Chameleon Boy, Invisible Kid and Colossal Boy, members of this second generation of Legionnaires.
Perhaps Colossal Boy is the son of Gim and Yera Allon. Note his reddish-brown hair, and Jimmy Olsen-type freckles, attributes not seen in any other rendition of Colossal Boy. Also, the bizarre distortion when he uses his powers-- his arms and legs are completely out of proportion, and his head is far too small-- rather than being errors in perspective by the artist, this might be due to the influence of his mother’s shape-shifting powers.
This Colossal Boy's brother might be Chameleon Boy! Oddly, he refers to himself as “the one and only Chameleon Boy”. The one and only? What about Reep Daggle? Isn’t there a planet full of other Durlans? Perhaps not! Perhaps some catastrophe wiped out Durla and its population, and Yera and her son are the only Durlans left in this future Universe.
Invisible Kid, in his peculiar red-and-gold outfit, cannot be the son of the Lyle Norg Invisible Kid, who died years earlier without heirs. Rather, he must be the son of Jacques Foccart and Drura “Infectious Lass” Sehpt, whose (respectively) deep brown and chalk-white skin combined to produce this peach-hued boy.
This may also explain the strange ending. When Supergirl becomes a Superwoman, she is rejected as a Legionnaire. But surely the others know that the effects of Red K are only temporary!
Perhaps while Supergirl was digging a tunnel through the Earth, the Legionnaires contacted their parents:
“Guess what, Moms and Dads, Supergirl is going to be a member of OUR Legion, just like Superboy was a member of YOURS.”
“Oh, kids, didn’t you know? Supergirl was a member of the original Legion as well as her cousin, although she didn’t participate in many missions. You better find some pretext of rejecting her; we’re afraid this might lead to some strange time-paradoxes if she is a member of both Legions.”
