Well, we've passed the halfway point of Sam's stay at boot camp on Parris Island. No surreptitious pics of him on the website Carol found lately. At least, none that we can recognize of him. A few letter to and from home. One bad/good thing is that one of the recruits is out due to a pretty serious injury, and that's bad. i hate to hear it. But, it isn't Sam. He's getting closer and closer to the Crucible, and then it's just two weeks of learning how to be an official Marine.

Other than that, life has just...been.

After bottoming out emotionally a couple days ago, my recovery was sped up exponentially today, thanks to a really, really good therapy session!

I love hearing that! I heartily recommend therapy for almost everyone!

As for my update, Sam passed the Crucible with flying colors, and is now a Full Private, not a recruit. We got to talk with him on a phone call Sunday. I was on the road and only got a few minutes, most of which was spent listening to him finish eating because he's the Hatch Marine, meaning he's in charge of the doors and has to wrangle the rest of his unit. I said they probably did it to give him less time to eat, to help him lose weight. He laughed and said it didn't work since he can now clear a tray in less than three minutes, all it did was make him fast.

I laughed my ass off. It was so great to hear from him.

Love that young man.

I'm crying right now I'm really crying I'm so relieved I finally found Candle after over a year she's living in a Dallas care center she needed her foot and parts of her leg removed but she's getting a prosthetic oh God hearing her voice again after so long I wish I could've helped her through that I thought I thought she was dead but I kept trying to find her
