Anyone else catch the premiere last week?
As a longtime fan I loved it!

I found it pretty bland, neither particularly funny nor particularly imaginative. I might have smiled, but I certainly never laughed out loud.
Of course, it is hard to compete with the memories of the genius of the past, when Henson and Oz were running the show.
Look up some of that old stuff on YouTube. It's amazing. They're doing VAUDEVILLE on national TV, and it works!
Still, I would give these new guys a chance to hit their stride: it's only the first show.

I liked it alright, but definitely wasn't blown away by it or anything. If it weren't something I didn't already have strong emotional associations with, I'm not sure I'd bother with it at all.

I'm onboard. In fact, I'll make a prediction: it's going to hit its groove very soon and become a lot of fun!

Didn't dig it at all. It was trying too hard to be a mash-up between Larry Sanders and the Office, and that's going to get old really fast. The Muppets always played to an adult crowd, but did so with subtely and comedic brilliance, this one missed the boat on that. Here's a good take that's close to my own: http://grantland.com/hollywood-pros...gets-everything-wrong-about-the-muppets/

I have mixed feelings. I liked some parts but others were kinda "eh" for me. (I may have the old Muppet Show on a pedestal....)

I'll disagree with Lash, I think it's gotten progressively worse over three episodes. Last night's was exceptionally unfunny.

Still back on episode #2. Piggy is happy because she's getting porked every night. Kermit feels the need to change that. Meanwhile, Fozzie's kleptomania... Really weird vibe in this show. Maybe my last episode. Not finding it particularly funny, not particularly interested in the character arcs. Most interesting character to me so far is "Uncle Deadly". https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AmFkmR243EsWho is pretty low on the minor character list. I don't know. Maybe it will turn around, but I'm not sure the writers really know what they're doing. Most of the attempted humor seems to come from "Look! Puppets!". I mean, if this were a show featuring human beings trying to do comedey, it would have already been cancelled.

This show reminds me of one thing from the Muppet show:
Why do we always come here? I guess we'll never know It' like a kind of torture To have to watch the show! (Original Muppet Show Theme Song)
The muppets have always lived in a world where ordinary rules don’t apply. It seems like the big joke here is, what if one of the rules of the real world suddenly did apply? What if they treated Fozzie like he was a real bear, and shot him or put him in the zoo?
Or what if the Executives over at Corporate slaughtered and ate Kermit’s new girlfriend for Christmas dinner? What if Kermit really was a 60-year-old frog? (He’d have been dead for the past fifty years.)
I’m with Statler and Waldorf here. I’m giving up the show before it gets that bad.

Ok, I've been pretty down on the show, and it still has a long way to go to climb back into my good graces, but the Swedish Chef doing "Rapper's Delight" was pretty great.
